Can we please have the first post edited to state that guessers are not allowed to use google/wikipedia etc?

Those of us who have followed all the games so far know this, but there is no current way for new people to know this rule

What about spymasters? Are they allowed to do research on their clues?

We agreed earlier to allow spymasters to look up their own words, at the risk of finding associations that their teammates couldn't figure out

Oh, we did? I've been avoiding that ever since we started. I'd prefer not to, you wouldn't do it (with most groups) when playing over the board in person.

Its never been banned i think on the basis that if its obscure enough for you to need to look it up, how are your team going to get it?

I think I also favor a ban on all research. In IRL Codenames, it's assumed that no one will use any outside source, and the online game should simulate that as close as possible.
