[SPOILERS] Rowain and the USA

New turn and new rumors:

a) suboptimal declared war on Stockholm- If he captures it then Ichabod wuld lose some science.

b) Bacchus' India has reached Classical Age. If it was via Horseback Riding then it means Bad News. There is no real defense vs Varu short of Crossbows.

I'm still the only contact for India.

Ichabod has lost some mil power. But I doubt Kaiser can withstand him long.

suboptimal has ~10gpt so his delta of 60 means most likely he killed a barbcamp.

Turn 046

Ichabod captured Japans second city and renamed it to Masters of War (according to rumor- the city is not shown in Ichabods citylist).  Judging by the mil.power (168 vs 46 )Kaiser has little chance to survive.

I got presented with an opportunity:

which leads to war and :

The big news of today turn (48) is that Japan (Kaiser) has finished his 6th civic and is now classical.

Alas he still has only a quarter of Ichabods mil.power so I still think his days are numbered.

I have currently a few Barbs (2 Horses and 1 Horse-Archer) around my capital and sent a Scout towards the west to get a better picture about Ichabods land/Army etc.

Turn 49:

Japan is still alive. Ichabod declared war on Stockholm so I guess he doesn't want suboptimal to get it. He also completed a Science-district.

Ichabod has currently 4 cities he should easily get up to 6 with Stockholm and Japans capital. It looks like he will be the first to a great Scientist too. IMO it is his game to lose right now.

I finished Early Empire and switched to Colonization. Bacchus has still no Partheon but builds a Holy District tin his 2nd City.

1 small item from Turn 50: India proposed an Lux-swap which I accepted to show good intentions. I don't want those Phants at my doorstep.

It is interesting that so far I'm still the only contact with Bacchus.

A showing of the GP-standing:

If you check the GreatGeneral -points one gets a complete listing of all cities other civs have including those not listed in the tradescreen (capital, occupied cities).

And finally a big overview of the land and my research etc:

Hey Rowain, could you let us know what your reasoning was for Ohio's placement? (Dry city)

Thanks! ?

Several reasons: For one it was meant to block off some possible settlements from India.
The fact that I need Stone for the masonry-boost and Wheat for the irrigation-boost and I prefer my resources to not be 3-rd ring. It was not clear if I manage to get the stones south of Baltimore. Also if I settled next to wheat + Orange it would kill a wonderful Feudalism-triangle (2 floodplains + 1 wheat).
Once I built an Aquaeduct on the just cleared Jungle-tile the city should be fine.

On to turn 52:
All the above can become moot quite soon as Ichabod is running ahead. He just captured Kumasi getting his 5th city with 3pop. He also aquired his 8th tech and makes 15.4 spt which is 50% more than the next best (Bacchus ) makes. Japan continues to hold on and is still the only nation with an advanced government (Autocracy).

American news:
killed the Barb-horsearcher and cleared the jungle-tile speeding up the Monument to 6 turns left. Need more culture :-). The scout met La Venta in the west. Another religious CS which is influenced by suboptimal and Kaiser with 1 envoy each.

Turn 54:

Nothing new under the sun except there seems to be a mass of settlers currently on the map. If nobody lost pop by starving I count 1 settler for Kaiser 1 still missing from suboptimal 2 from Bacchus who also put down the foundations of a commerce-district at his 2nd city and most likely even Ichabod should have a settler out.

Ichabod also got his 9th tech and is the leader in Icon_Science and Icon_Culture . Scorewise I'm currently second but in reality that place belongs to Bacchus. I'm currently 3rd tied with suboptimal (perhaps a small edge for me) Kaiser while still the leader in civics is slowly falling behind. Even if he survives I guess his game is practically over.

Turn 55:

suboptimal founded his 3rd city. My scout in the west found borders of a science CS.

T57:

Kaisers (Japan) power dropped from 90 to 37 during the last 2 turns. while Ichabods stayed roughly the same (~155). guess we will be down to 4 players soon.

Ichabod (England) signed peace with Stockholm. He also asked for a amenities trade (on T56) but since a) I would not get anything from it and b) he is the clear leader and I have no interest in helping him getting more powerful I declined. He currently has 5 cities with 14 pop. I have currently 10 pop and will found my city4 in ~3 turns. Ichabod also completed his 6 civic.

suboptimal(Arabia) increased his Mil Power to 181 and put down the foundations of a science district.

Bacchus (India) has still not finished civic 6 despite having a vey high culture output since a long time.
