Why did I follow him I don't know, why do things happen as they do in dreams. All I know is that when he beckoned I had to follow him. From that moment we traveled together east, always into the east.....
That gave me quite the flashback. What a great game!
Once again thanks for the reports.
You are welcome!
Yea I find that scene from Act 1 comes to mind every time the phrase "traveling east" or something similar is mentioned in a game or movie. Out of the 3 Diablo games, the story of the second one I still think is the best.

Turn 25
First up the score.
Now that I am armed with a list of management items that I need to perform each turn, I should now have more thorough reports.
In the south
It looks like I am getting to the end of the jungle area. Nothing new on settler view. Next turn I can move 2 tiles so that should help with my scouting efforts.
The east
TheArchduke did not declare war and moved his scout towards Geneva. The barb scout was positioned in such a way to make this the best move I could make without being locked down by zone of control. I expect to get the inspiration for foreign trade in the next couple of turns.
The situation at Jess
I double check all offensive moves I can make with my warrior and standing in place to heal is still the best move. He is sitting on 11exp with 4 more needed to get the upgrade. I can possibly kill the horse archer but then that would leave him open for certain death. My slinger is at 34/35 production so there will be nice overflow next turn towards the builder that will be up next. The barbs will hopefully stay in place and allow me to kill 2 of them next turn.
Looking into the rankings screen I can say that no one has met a culture CS yet. TheArchduke is leading by a decimal amount.
For science Alhambram is also ahead by a couple decimals places and has researched 4 techs. I origianly thought back when he had 3 techs researched that they were Animal husbandry, Mining and Bronze working. However now that I checked out the diplomacy screen.
He has horses and citrus hooked up. This means he had to have grabbed Animal husbandry, pottery and irrigation, so he built a farm and pasture and either plantation for citrus or has built a second builder. This should postpone his second city I would think. He gold per turn is at 7 so I don't think he has met a gold city state, but is working the citrus. I am not sure what his 4th tech would be.
From what I can tell from the Armagh and Geneva city state screens show that I am the only to meet them. However when I look at Hong Kong, It looks to me like TheArchduke is the only one to meet them. Confused a bit with the city state screen, I looked at all of the menu's and cannot tell if Alhambram has met Armagh. Not much I can do about it, Archduke has 2 envoy's in Hong Kong, so must have had an easy quest.
TheArchduke has met a gold CS i think
He is making 9 gold per turn and has horses hooked up. Also he is sitting on 221 gold.
I was able to grab a pantheon this turn and noticed that 'God of the Forge' was taken'. I don't think I can figure out who took it until I get view of Archduke's cities. I did not check the religion screen so that may yield more info. Another blunder but It has been added to my checklist, so I won't miss this information again. (I may need a reminder to check my list). Judging by my past reports and the fact that Archduke bounced around the religion rankings, I think he took this pantheon. Suboptimal is the only other person who may have gotten it.
I ended up going for 'City Patron Goddess', which give's my cities bonus production towards the first district the city builds. It was a tossup between that and 'Divine Spark'. Ultimately my plan will involve many cities and many encampments so this pantheon was the best to help me reach that goal. 'Divine Spark' while very good in its own right, is just not as good for my current plan.
I was able to get this turn in just before work. I know I said that I would post a strategy overview, but will be unable to post that until I get home from work later tonight. I'll also probably get turn 26 in if our current pace keeps up.

A Post of plans.
When this map type was announced I had the idea that I will name “Operation Tundra Thrice”. Besides having a great name, this strategy is intended to win the game out right, culminating with a decisive strike on my opponents capitals.
This plan requires almost complete map awareness, and given the volatile conditions a free for all game type presents, this strategy will most likely not be possible. Still keeping notes and as many options as I can open for the time being, I see no harm in going over what the idea behind this strike would be.
With the map having tundra at the northern and southern most tiles, there is a possibility that my opponents will have constant fog of war on the very edge of the map. Sneaking several cavalry units a siege tower, a settler, and missionary or apostle combined with the crusade religious belief would allow for a strike force to possibly take a capital. This would all have to fall together at three separate map locations and require a considerable amount of resources dedicated specifically to this cause. The validity of this strategy will be completely depended on my enemies settling patterns, and my ability to execute some form of distraction on the enemies fronts, to give my soldiers the best chance of taking a capital swiftly.
I do not think it is of much use yet to try and calculate the total hammers, techs, and civics that would be required to even make this idea a possibility. Still this is a plan that may become more valid as the game progresses. So keeping my options open.
Code named 'Military Action Tile Grab' is the second plan I have conjured up, and is more suited to Poland's unique abilities. This is the route I intend to work for and I believe is more realistic than 'Operation Tundra Thrice'. This involves expanding towards my southern neighbor (Persia) and after our borders have been established to 'steal' tiles via encampment's and forts. This requires that I have Hussar's and Persia's Immortals are not longer very relevant. I still have not found Alhambram's borders, but I suspect that any strike against me will need to be initiated by around turn 90 at the latest to be effective.
There are still many turns to go, and far more information I need to gather before I can assert the actual value of either plan. Both plan benefit from 'crusader belief' and with encampment's and fort's converting the city to my religion I think that this will render 'Defenders of the faith belief' useless. Also I doubt there will be much contention for 'crusade' so if I can get the first religion, coral music to help with my culture progress can be my focus.
I still think that my pursuit of the Great General is the best defensive move I can make. Persia or Macedon with a General, is going to be almost impossible to defend against. Macedon is very far from me so I don't think archduke would be headed my way. However that means his eyes will be set on Suboptimal and the somewhat weak early game (in comparison to a Macedon with archduke commanding the attack) of Australia. After Macedon's UU's become obsolete he will still pose a considerable Military threat, but by that time hopefully the Aussie's are in a good position to fight back.
There are a couple of things to point out here.
-Hopefully Suboptimal knows that Macedon is on his borders and is preparing for the inevitable assault
-Poland getting the first GG is the best thing for Suboptimal, short of him getting it
-I can scout out the area in between Archduke and Suboptimal and possibly declare war on the Aussie's to give him a production boost. With AI diplomacy, I would think he would understand that a war declaration from Poland, whom is on the other side of the map, is more to help him than to actually mount any offensive actions.

Turn 26
No changes in score since last turn
Concerning the rankings screen it looks like me and suboptimal are probably making the same science of 6.8 and Alhambram is in the lead due to having 4 techs. Astrology is in next turn and after I kill the remaining 2 barbs I will also be at 4 techs.
Culture seems to be tied at 2.2 between me and archduke
My domination score is the lowest due to my units warrior being damaged. Archduke has me by about 10 points. Alhambram however was in the mid 50's, and the screen shows suboptimal in first place.
Religion archduke and I are tied at +2, with alhambram still at 0.
In the capital my slinger finishes and I queue up a builder due in 5 turns. After moving my units I end up with this.
My slinger kills the horseman and gets the eureka for archery. Then I had my warrior attack the full HP horseman to get the 4 exp needed for a promotion which he can take next turn. With my slinger out in the open now I think the barbs may move around a bit.
I checked the diplomacy, great people, and city state interfaces and no new information is available.
My scout in the east has news though
I found Gondwana! So that gets me the inspiration towards foreign trade, that will finish before craftsmanship due to my builder taking 6 turns to complete the 3 improvements I would like him to build. The barb scout is trying to get back to camp I think or he is pissed because his camp died and now he is on a suicide mission. No sure but my scout was not sticking around to find out.
Finally in the south
I find more coco and jungle. He was gong to be stopped on the desert hill tile any ways so I checked the tile he is on now just to see what the mountains lead. Next turn he will head towards the desert hills tile.

Thanks from another gen-lurker for the detailed reporting. Good to see your warrior clearing out Jessica's borders again (and getting a promotion to boot). I hope the course of true love runs smooth for a bit.
I should remind you that you've forgotten to rename your second city. Could I ask that you get rid of the apostrophe too when you do so?

There have definitely been some rocky times with Jess in the past, however the future does look bright.
I did actually remember to rename 'Bastion' this turn. I was not aware that Polacks did not require an apostrophe, I fixed that as well.

Turn 27
Nothing else changed much in the diplo, great people, and city state screens.
Alhambram has jumped up with a military score of 62. Have to keep an eye on that ranking.
To start I finished astrology and start research on pottery, the raiders of my beloved capital moved in a way I was not expecting...
I would have prefured that the horse archer moved on top of the hill south of the city, but the defenders of Poland can handle any threat so I ended up moving a bit..
This allowed my warrior to take the +7 promotion, and my slinger was able to take a shot at the horseman. Also to note I placed down the holy site to lock the cost. It will cost a total of 73 , but with my pantheon it will take ruffly 6 turns to complete. Bastion is set to grow in 3 turns and finish the warrior in 5.
Scouting has not shown much of interest, in the east i find some jade
and in the south
Just more mountains and jungle. It is interesting that I think there are some changes performed by the map maker. It looks like each of us has a nice area that is well defended by mountains and then some area that is less defensive in between. I think between this and the fact that in the organization thread cornflakes said he was 'roughing up the coast', means that boats will be useful in this map. More scouting will confirm, but that seems to be what I am noticing.
Finally I renamed Bastion and made up a dot map of where I would like to settle in the future.
As always scouting will be required to confirm final spots, and I would like to grab as much area to my south as possible, just nothing sticks out until I figure out the view of the mountains south of my planned coco cotton city.

The most disturbing news from the new score updates is that suboptimal has 3 cities. They are all size 1 so I can't see him getting much out of them soon. Got to keep an eye on that though.
Suboptimal is also leading in science, I don't think it is by much however not sure when I will meet him, maybe our scouts will cross paths.
Culture and religion have not changed me and arch duke are tied at 2.2 and 2.0 , the others can't be far behind. (Except alhambram is still in last with 0 )
Finally after many long centuries...
We get a nice picture of the Polish Chiefdom learning Bronze Working!!!
Well I actually thought I took several screenshots of the capital before and after but this is the only one that showed up. Next turn's pictures will show the area better. To sum up what happened.
My wounded warrior was able to kill the enemy horse archer. My slinger then moved out of the city and removed the vile barbarian threat.
This got me the eureka as mentioned, and reveled iron all across the map. There is iron on the desert hills tile (11)(2SW) from Jessica as well as several other sources in the east.. Always the east.
None of those screenshots seemed to save either but to finish up in the capital area, bastion planted its encampment on the tile I have marked and it showed 13 turns to completion at 78 total. This should go down when the city hits size 2 and my builder improves the stone.
To wrap up this turn I'll show the settler view of my scouts
First up my wounded buddy who just keep truckin along
And the jungle exploration of the south..
Still not sure If I am out of the jungle yet. Ill do a tile count next turn to see how close I am to the maps borders. There is a of coco down there. I doubt I could ever get a city into that area in time for it to be productive but one can wish.

Turn 29
Score, Ranking, and Great People race.
Now with this new setup, I can easily find the changes in these important categories, and remember what has changed as turns pass.
Ill note that Archduke has a lot of money, he may be buying a settler then finishing one.
I checked all of the city state screens and there is still no indication on who has met who. I think it safe to assume that archduke has met Geneva, and Alhambram met Armagh several turns ago. Interesting thing is with Hong Kong.
Hong Kong, may be the 'slingshot' archduke is looking to grab early great people. I don't think there is much I can do though, he has 2 envoys already.
As promised a pic of my capital with moves from last turn.
My warrior barely made it out alive, but from what I can tell from before the fight he was not going to die so I think that was a good move. I ended up letting my warrior move into Jess ( ) he is going to heal and be my homeland security team, in case barbs show up again and want to pillage my lands. My slinger heads south to get some intel on the coast and move towards the southern barb camp, combined with the warrior that is due in 3 turns they will both go secure the area for coco cotton city.
My scout around archdukes land
Switched to strategy view for this shot, and there are a couple iron resources that showed up above Geneva. The one is making 'Ruhr Valley, without the wonder' city location even more tempting. As for scouting my scout had to double back a bit, ran into that barb camp just southeast of his current location. Going to just go around the north.
My southern scout however has discovered something interesting...
That 1/3 hills tile is either Persian borders or a new city state. Will be a few turns until I can confirm, unless it's a CS and I run into one of there units. Would be nice If Alhambram has not met them yet.
Finally the strategic view of my capital area showing my final moves and the overall good land I have available to me.
We shall see how much of it I am able to claim.
