[spoilers] Mr. Cairo clicks into Erebus.

I've decided that Archery isn't worth it. I have 14 forests in my RBFC's, so Archery would be worth 56 hammers, which is only just over what I produce a turn anyways. So, those hammers are not worth the commerce it would take to get Archery (since I'm unlikely to use Archery for anything else). I think this is just one of those things I have to get used to, playing EitB on quick compared to RtR on normal. Esp[ecially being the Kuiros who won't have as many forests to shop as the other players.

Report time!

First things first, met DaveV, or rather he met me:

He offered open borders (which I accepted) and a trade of Pigs for Fine Clothes (which I rejected). I made a counter-offer of Fine Clothes and Ale for his 1 Cotton, although I doubt he'd take it, but now that he knows what I want he may send a counter-counter offer.

Seeing the galley kinda makes me regret going for Sailing (although I'll need it to actually take advantage of the open borders, afaik), since the Great Lighthouse is probably not going to be available.

In other neighbor news I founded my first settlement on the border with superjm:

I built a road on the wheat, and next turn I'll pull back. Hopefully he realises I want to set up a trade route (although sailing might make that unnecessary) and connects it on his end.

Graphs now I've met DaveV:

That's a Golden Age for sure (a Great Merchant was born 4 turns ago), which makes my GNP much more impressive.

That's a lot of power, I wonder if he's next to/been fighting Auro and the Doviello.

My cities:

Currently alternating between workers and warriors, but I think I might actually build a Smokehouse, I have the Granary already, so might as well.

Granary after the Tailor.

Just finished the Tailor, going to build a couple of Warriors before Sailing finishes and I can build a Lighthouse. Might build a galley beforehand though.

Thanks for the update. Meeting the neighbors, borders, and trade. Oh, and a settlement. Lots going on. smile

Turn 90 report:
Here's the empire (without resource bubbles)

And with resource bubbles

Sorry about the notes, I just decided to plan out every improvement in one go instead of thinking about it each turn. It's mostly cottages, a few additional farms for a food cushion.

In international news, the Kurio Dominion has negotiated a few trade deals with the neighbors.

They may not appear advantageous at first glance (I do lose the Ale), but Cotton and Dye have a lot of value to the Kurious. Thanks to my Tailors, which I have in each city now, they (and the Silks I have) provide 2 happy and 10% commerce, each. And that's a commerce multiplier, not a science or gold one, so it's always effective.

Here are the cities, right now they're pretty hammer-shy, prioritizing growth, both of the cities and the cottages I'm building everywhere:

Duruptus gives another 30% commerce bonus here.

Once I hit the current happy cap, it'll be back to hammers and I'll churn out a bunch of Centaurs.

Current tech plan:

After KotE, I think I'll go straight for Corruption of Spirit.

Demos (at 100% science):

Idk how long I'll be able to maintain this GNP lead, but I'll try and milk it for all it's worth.

Dave's the favourite atm I think, he has a LOT of cities:

Sorry for the delay in reporting, I was waiting for a good time to do a report around turn 100, but it's only now that I've got the time to actually do one (I play about half of my turns before I go to work in the morning).

So, as I'm sure the other players have mentioned, the main thing to report it the founding of Ashen Veil, which I founded last turn.
A couple turns too late for this event unfortunately:

I also swapped into Religion when I converted, so my happy cap is about to shoot up again.

Here's the 'empire', in all its evil glory:

I'm also in the process of expanding somewhat, here to the north to pick up another Silk and a Gold, which will be very nice indeed.

Once I do, I'll probably join with Auro and superjm and cancel my OB with DaveV, I can trade for Cotton from Auro if Dave cancels that deal. I don't offer a lot of trade routes for Dave, but still, he's far and ahead the favourite right now, so no need to help him unnecessarily.

Here are my cities:

Going for a GA of my own here.

Isn't she a beaut. I'll build another Savant out of here to spread to Naggarond, then get Rosier out, then back to Savants. I'm currently Spiritual so they get some nice bonuses from that, and I learned I can upgrade them into Mages, so I wont have to swap to Arcane at T150 and build a bunch of Adepts then. I can just build a lot of Savants now and let them build up xp for eventual upgrades into Ritualists and Mages.

Here are the demos. DaveV is on top, but I hope I can catch up in GNP soon

Tech plan: As you can see I'm getting Smelting right now for Jewelers and Forges (which is what makes getting that Gold so nice). After that I think I'll back-fill a bit, get techs like Hunting and Writing, and move down some of the eco techs for better civics.

Thanks for the update and screenshots!

Unfortunate timing on the event. frown That can be a very nice one, but sometimes it just pops up at the wrong moment.

I've decided I may as well grab some of the other religions, Runes and Leaves. I get bonuses to building temples and they'll add yet more happiness to my cities, and they're cheap techs.

Edit: i'll do a proper report for next turn.

As promised, a report.

My settlers are approaching their settlement locations:

I'll settle the southernmost one where it is (not on the silk), while the other one is going to settle on the gold. That way I (should) get a trade connection right away for the gold.

I decided to go and get Runes this turn, then after a turn (or two) of 0% science, go for stuff like Writing, Hunting, and Cartography.

My cities:

Just growing and growing some more. After the Temple, I'll get a Forge, which I think is pretty essential for the Kurios, if largely useless for everyone else.

This city will be a lot better once it can stop with the specialists. Runes ended up getting founded here. I'm pretty sure I'll use the GP for a GA, and not to build a shrine. I can use the extra GA hammers to get those expensive Forges out. Also note the Iron that appeared here once I got Smelting.

No hesitation here, I'm going to get Rosier before anything else here. The sooner he's built the better he'll become. Afterwards a Forge (during the GA) and a Jewelers, then possibly a Temple of Kilmorph, then Savants.

Obviously my only real chance of winning this game is with Culture, which will be apparent to the other players now I've grabbed a second religion. Hopefully I can stay off the radar and out of any major conflicts for now. If a dogpile on DaveV occurs, I'll probably join in.

Auro got the game's second wonder:

Which is nice, since he's furthest away from me so my most natural ally.

Thanks for the update! Always nice to get a peek at the Kurio mega cities. smile

Momentous times happening now, Auro declared on DaveV, but I'm sure you'll see more of that war in they're threads, but here in Kuriotopia, stuff is happening too.
I saved cash for a few turns and fired off a Golden Age this turn, here's the demos:

superjm is also in a GA.

Here are my lovely cities, made more lovely by the GA:

Just got the games first hero (not counting Lucian):

Here are my new settlements:

I'm also doing some scouting, and can see that Auro is really throwing everything he has at DaveV.

I wonder when he'll cast Wild Hunt? I'm pretty sure he hasn't yet, I have been looking at the event log every turn.
The power differential between Auro and Dave is pretty large:

But I think that the Doviello have better units on a pound-for-pound basis, so this is probably somewhat misleading.

Not a fan of Dave moving his units through my territory now he's at war, if that Drown is still in my territory next turn I'll cancel OB. I sent Rosier down there to (hopefully) make that clear to him. I'll probably cancel those OB anyway in a few turns, once I've got the Forges and Jewelers down and can start building units again.

My tech plan right now:
Cartography -> Hunting -> Warfare -> Military Strategy -> Currency -> Writing -> Mathematics -> Taxation -> Trade

By the end I'll be able to swap into Republic, Military State, and Foreign Trade. I also plan to grab some wonders along the way, starting the with Pact of the Nilhorn, because why not, and then Guild of the Nine, since I can only produce three units at a time, but I do make a lot of money thanks to my low expenses.
