I don't have time right now, but I will finish the turn before I go to bed tonight. Probably in 5 hours or so. Things that will happen.
1) Yeah I did forget to mention our replacement city, I'll grab a picture of that. 2) I'll promote the Knight(s) in Wismar so they can heal quicker 3) I'll take a look at the Tree Huggers/Cutting Edge cottage swap thing kjn suggested. I would slightly prefer to leave it alone and push growth for two sizes from now. If someone has strong opinions here, please share them. 4) Please get your final words in and decide for sure if you want me to turn science onto 80% for PP this turn or leave it be. I'm sensing a narrow consensus for turning it on this turn, which is fine, but you have a little more time to discuss it. Also, since someone asked about it, I want to note that in Eastern Dealers, we ARE building a farm right now on the jungled grassland, but it'll take several more turns before it's ready to go. I'm for waiting until t159 but I bet you already have me down on record for that.

Can I just mention that we have now captured 2 capitals! And for the first time this game, (IIRC) we have captured a city that comes to us above size 1!
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Only thing I really care about is to change Let It Snow to the forge, so we can whip it next turn. I think we will get the courthouse at the same turn, or maybe only a single turn later, but we get the forge much earlier.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width
We shouldn't turn tech on until the turn we need it, unless we are due to complete some markets this turn or something. I trust our team to be able to manage some simple arithmetic.
I guess I will take a look at the stream to see if I have any suggestions about city management.
Re PP teching - I think I am leaning to the T159 turn side. I can see myself trolling through the cities looking for hammers --> beakers so that we can run the slider at 70%.

Very nice management of the war effort, we're making even better progress than I had hoped. Our economy will continue to suck for the moment, but give us 20 turns to consolidate these gains and we should be almost unstoppable. While we don't want to get overconfident, a hot war between CFC and CivFr would almost end this game for all intents and purposes. Keep it up.
A short economy word here from someone who can't look more closely at the moment. Don't put too much more pop into drafted maces. Anything drafted now is unlikely to make it to the German front before the war is over, and 0 XP drafted maces are going to be essentially useless after this war. The next war (if we fight one) will involve rifles, and the maces will be hopelessly outdated. I would definitely not be drafting a low food city like Mansa's Muse; we can work a grassland farm (for more growth) or a plains hill mine (which increases production by 50%) instead. I wouldn't draft any core cities that have good commerce. Only draft places like our Globe city and the low infrastructure size 6 cities (like Ditchdigger). We should try to use our pop for badly needed courthouse and market/grocer whips. You guys can sort out the details of this Printing Press thing, I don't think it's actually all that important. We'll probably lose the 50/50 dice roll and miss the Great Scientist anyway.
GM: -coast, +FP
ST: -FP, +plains farm (This is worth -1g, +2h in ST, and transfers a food from ST to GM.) ED: definitely work 1 extra spec-turn to speed up GP. But my question is: how many hammers are needed for the CH? Finishing it 1t sooner is worth 9 gold - that's more than a turn of working the gem mine! So I am interested in figuring out the best way to build it in 2t rather than 3. It might be best to work one of the mines on the same turn as the extra priest to get to an even hammer count. If someone can post the number of hammers needed I can provide a plan. |
