I like the idea of getting some of the beakers with scientists in MM. That's not as costly a conversion as hammers to beakers. I'd also prefer delaying university builds over courthouses. AO, ST, FR, and Starfall plus the scientists as KJN suggested sounds fine to me, though if that's an exact answer, I think I'd like to pick up an extra beaker from somewhere for safety.
I can't log into the game, so I can't offer my own idea, but can we try and overshoot by a beaker or two rather than trying to hit the number on the nose? I'd hate to come up one beaker short because Civ decided to do some weird truncation somewhere.

Sorry - been away picking up a new dog. Are all of the beaker discussions assuming a 70% slider with the balance made up from specialists and city builds?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

If we manage to capture one or two cities next turn, won't the unit supply cost make German units go on strike or something? Assuming they don't have tons of cash available.

A few turns of strike is pretty irrelevant for them.
If we do capture some cities next turn that would help our bulbs though, right? Is population in revolt counted?
I have to run.

Yes. Or rather, we need to hit at least 558 in the upper left number. My latest proposal uses a 70% slider.
And yes, I think I overshot a little with my proposal over cities. I think I got to 568 or so.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Yeah, the Germans have 165g, and I doubt they're researching right now.
I believe revolting pop also counts, just as it is for scoring purposes.

I don't mind being 10-ish or so over. I would rather be over than short.

Hmm, if that's 10 over, can we replace Seven Tribes with something else? It's got a lot of solid commerce buildings left to build iirc.
I think we should be over too, but I think a better margin is 1-3, rather than 10, unless we're guarding against the possibility that revolting pop doesn't count.
