Logged in and did the following changes:
* Mansa's Muse: 2 merchants -> 2 scientists
* Adventure One: build research (was university)
* French Riviera: build research (was barracks)
That brings us to 553 (558 needed).
Then we can choose between building research in either Mansa's Muse or (brings us to 560) or Seven Tribes (563). If we do go with Mansa's Muse, we can switch the grass cottage and gold between Forbidden Fruit and MM. That gives us an additional 3b, a little more gold, -2F in MM and +2F in FF.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I thought it had already been discussed that adding the +2 food to FF was better because that city grows sooner and thus we get the payoff sooner. So, I would say go with building research in MM. Does that get us to the threshold with a little cushion? 2 or 3 beakers sounds good, I don't think we'll be off by more than that.

Making that change to MM seems best, it will be giving up university hammers as well, which hurts less than courthouse hammers.

Yeah, we probably don't need a big cushion. It's just protection against the unknown

Ok, we're now at 564 reported beakers in the upper left corner.
I set Mansa's Muse to build research (replacing university, instead of Seven Tribes/market). I also switched the cottage and gold between MM and Forbidden Fruit.
MM is now at -2F / +11H. FF is at +5F / +6H.
Last chance to make any complaints before I end turn and log out!
BTW, do we want theatres in the German cities of Webringen/Doppelgänger and Weil der Stadt/Beyaz Peynir (yes, I renamed them), and not courthouses or something else?

Did someone verify in game that the difference in our GNP with PP selected vs no tech selected matches the 20%+prereq bonus that we expect?

Double checked the math and it looks good. We'll have 845/2880 into PP at beginning of next turn. Just.need to win a coin flip now!
Why do we want theatres? Is culture a big issue?

I think the theatres were placeholders from when we captured the cities.
GNP with PP: 598
GNP with Compass: 536
So yes, we get a good number of known tech beakers.
