So I rescued the post i did of the demos power of ruff. Im going to edit it so it fix. Total power right now: 39k
Good read of the situation. I was overly pessimistic. Not very much it sounds like. could it be galley, warrior and archer? Taht would make most sense to me. That is good to know. Let's hope mjmd attacks Cairo so we can end Ruff without breaking a sweat.

That is good to know. Let's hope mjmd attacks Cairo so we can end Ruff without breaking a sweat. If i know right archers are 3k, so unless i messed up 6k with a galley makes hard to have an archer. Thats why i think 3 axes on every border city would be enough. Or at least i thought that and you told me kind of the same. So what do you think about the duns? when would it be the best moment to whip? Gooseberry i would say the turn right before it ends. But im not sure if Sloe the same or not, if we wait for that we will lose several turns of working the fish so im not sure if it would be better or not to make faster the whip eventhough we lose some OF. I thought to whip it on next turn. But if you feel it would be worth we could even do this turn with 9h OF
From an eco perspective sloe should be whipped when it can grow back the same turn. However, getting fish sooner is also good for economy. Also if we want fur badly we should whip sooner. I would whip on first even culture turn so we minimise loss for time gained.
Gooseberry should be at the last minuter to maximise overflow.

So i wnet back to game since i saw mjmd bulbing something. And i was "scared" of alpha bulb. But it seems it has been maths. So i have to think who had maths instead of him, but it is not that relevant i think.
Also he asked us to fight amica, that is something we wont do. If we atack amica we will make Noble bigger by sharing him, something i dont want to happen. Either way we are not thinking on atacking mjmd for now, so its fine. Finally he already declared to cairo, so the thing is, is he war peacing to turn into us? or it is a real fight? if its real fight the problem it is that he would be in the point of atackign us much sooner than expected. So im glad he finally went for other, if thats the case.
Another weird message from mjmd. We should absolutely not attack Amica. Why would he even suggest that? If he has attacked cairo I would guess he wants his back free to take him on. To see if that war is real or not we study his and Cairos power graph and score. Are they whipping, are they losing units?
If it is real, what should our response be? Should we attack or consolidate? I would normally be inclined to attack but in this situation I think it is hard to do so for four reasons 1) we have still not fisnished Ruff, 2) our economy is bad 3) our cities are still recovering from the last round of whips 4) we have no real counter to praetorians. I would try to finish Ruff, consolidate and get to a better unit that we can use offensively against him. Knight would be ideal, maces could work, crossbow have issues against horse archers, elephants and archers/longbows in cities. If the war is active we can move the horse archers back to the north (keep the sentry one south though). We can get some more workers instead of units and work wonders/wealth to get tech faster. I would finish the units in production though to have garrisons with fortification bonus in the border cities. 2 axes + 1 archer is minimal flatland garrison. 2 archer + 1 axe works in hills. After currency the unit cost should be less of an issue with wealth builds. If there are surplus archers with no good city to defend they can go to Figs and Gooseberry in exchange for their warriors. It is easier to be attacked out of the fog at sea. I do not think it is a real risk now but it is prudent for later. The big question now is tech path. What do you see as the main options there?

I do agree with you. I dont see how we could atack right now mjmd. We are bad on economy so making an army has completely 0 sense.
I wsnted also to end the buildings in case this is a false war just in case. So i see 3 possible paths next. -Safest: MC and Machinery. I would try to make the colossus and make full of forges for the next war. Also getting xbows will destroy any try of mjmd to atack us. Unless he forget the praets and start making phants. Which i feel unlikely. -economy: rush feudalism and change civics with a GA. I think this would be the path if we hadnt hostile agr rome next to us, but we have it... Mix: calendar + construction, with calendar we could try to get MoM and get some happy from sugar. With construction we would have one of the most needed tech for either defend or atack. I think the best would be to get MC+mach+construction or MC+construction+ mach, noone knows yet MC so getting the colossus would be great and possible since noone has it yet. And xbows and cats after but not sure wich order would be better
I'm not sold on calendar as MoM should be a highly contested wonder and we do not get much if we do not get the wonder.
MC + Machinery adresses all of happy, military, production and economy somewhat which makes it a good option. We do need Iron as well to get crossbows and improve the gems. That is 1200 beakers base cost. Poly, Priest, Mono, Monarchy, Feudalism is 1280 beakers base cost. They will have more pre-reqs so the cost is about the same. This give more happiness, a more general military boost but not the best counter. It gives better production but no real economy. If we are building infrastructure than OR and forges does the same thing but OR cost much less hammers (40 vs. 120). Ideally I would want OR before whipping forges and courthouses as they are very expensive. I think it boils down to how we want to use the great scientist we get in 15 turns. If we want a golden age we should time it with civic swaps. If we want to use it for an academy then we can go straight for machinery and try golden age with the next one. Can we wait with swapping civics so long? Regardless we should aim to set-up to get more great persons for more golden ages etc. In a medium term perspective we need to get both of these paths plus code of laws and guilds so we can go on the offensive versus mjmd. I think that will involve some heavy wealth building if we are to get guilds in good time.
