Well, it's all very spoilery but the cat is out of the bag at this point, and we've both done it. I figure we'll just have us a little war now and let that be that. Mostly I was trying to avoid another shit show like I engaged in with Krill, and posting things won't really help avoid that. I'll PM if you really want to see it, because there is a fair amount of spoiler info, but I have zero interest in posting it here to be reviewed and aired out like dirty laundry later when the game has ended. I've had enough drama in this game already and I have more fun things to do with my time than this game, which takes far too much of my time already.

Do you want a PM? If so, I'll send it, but I ask that you not repost it elsewhere. I just don't want to deal with a bunch of bullshit. You can chide me privately, or in this thread, or make a general post in the tech thread and tell me to delete units or something, but I'm not really looking to be judged by anyone. There is spoiler information all over this site and nothing in this particular game is really a secret. As far as I'm concerned, the only parties that could be aggrieved in this issue are TBS, me, GJ, and OH/Fin. No one else in this game matters in the outcome and are just playing out of obligation or for lulz. TBS is the only person really harmed, and everyone with half a brain and a pulse knows what his deal is and is within the ballpark of how long it's going to take him to do it. I acknowledge that it isn't my right just say or do whatever I want because other players aren't going to win, but I just don't want to deal with a bunch of shit. I tried to be nice to Joey. Apparently it would have been better to just stick a fork in his eye. Even he agrees on this point. That's basically the only thing he agrees on with me.

So make with the fork sticking already!

I razed his size one city on HAK island and deleted my damaged CG2 infantry in the ice ball city that provoked this whole thing. Even casualties, maybe we'll be done with this fracas and I can go back to wrecking wetbandit (I healed up this turn because it was time to do that anyway as transports loaded and moved into position). I could have airlifted in an axe and upgraded it, but it isn't worth doubling down. Even if I hold the city (if he didn't take it this turn I would be able to keep it because I could have rushed an airport and then flooded in units) it isn't worth it because I won't have access to his rail network to abuse commandos, which was the whole point. So, just as I skirmished (and nuked trade routes) with williamLP, so have I done now with GJ. At least in this case I got to raze a city on my side of the conflict.

Whaddya know, even also rans have pride. Good to remember. But I've made another enemy and I'm glad to remember it.

FFP: Last turn I put up nearly eight pages of blood in the event log, the previous turn a scant page and a half of kills (etc), and the turn before THAT another five pages of green, muderous events. My troops are drowning in blood and need a minute to let the crimson tide ebb. We equip our troops with guns, not snorkels.

You're a very hard person to satisfy. smile

Ok, the real turn report now. Don't get your hopes up and expect what you saw previously. Wetbandit is running out of flanks for me to turn, and stacks to expose. I played this turn in a pretty big hurry today to get to a beer festival, so it seemed like a good time to heal up some units.

Joey's counter offer to my offer to take his entire HAK island. If he can get them, good on him. Barring Morale shenanigans, though, it isn't going to happen. I went ahead and rushed a machine gun in each of these cities and ferried a couple of units not involved in wetbandit's transition into the afterlife. The goal is to make him realize that the war is stupid, even if it is my fault, and even if he is an argumentative shit.

Joey declared war and then took as many shots at my units as he could, across the board. Rather than do the same to him, I killed some units, strafed others with fighters, and caused him to starve in a city or two with boats he can't quite reach. And I'm threatening Dominoes, who I must confess is making better pizza these days than in previous years. Still, if he doesn't offer peace I'll try to kill this sucker, and whatever else is convenient. I think part of my problem is that I work with too many impulsive, irrational people and it annoys me that he flies off the handle so easily, and is unwilling to admit that he's done anything wrong. I tried to apologize for being rude in his thread but he basically threw it back in my face, so fuck that guy. Again. I'm making lots of friends in this game. Good thing the internet is really big and full of all kinds of anonymous people I'll never meet. rolleye

TBS rang me up while I was in game, so I offered OB while we were there. It doesn't help me, but it was a means of trying to apply some pressure to joey. I'll cancel this at the earliest opportunity, or use the discount for spy missions. So now is a good time to ask if OB discounts still exist in RtR? I'm guessing not since it would be convenient.

Easy kill here. Strafe with fighters, then one amphibious and one C2 infantry and presto!

Second verse, same as the first. Fighters, bludgeon, loot the city and slaughter the mayor.

Fighters are really helpful and they extend the shelf life of mounted units considerably.

Ok, now pillage and loot. Got ahead of myself for a second.

Jeez, how many pics did I take here? Celebrate the forge!

A Joey city that will starve because it deserves it.

The second war is causing WW problems. I offered peace to Krill but predictably he declined. Can't say I am surprised. Can't say I blame him. I suppose we'll just have to fight it out. He can't have much else to look forward to, sitting on that shitty island and not doing anything for so long.

My pride-saving gram (not pound) of flesh. That's 240 hammers down the tube for Joey. I think he's probably a little ahead on the hammer count, but not enough to make me want to go for another round. I sunk a few of his boats, he sunk a few of mine. We'll trade a settler and an infantry or two. If he wants to get out of this I've given him an easy off ramp. I could have killed a better city but this was bare minimum effort. Size 14 is probably dead next turn if he hasn't offered peace. Or he can put units in there and I'll kill the island. Either way. Swallow the bile and take peace, man.

I think OH/Fin's MFG is creeping up again. I see a Three Gorges Dam in their future. I see bombers in mine.

Riddled by fighter bullets a bit. Nothing major, nothing lasting. Ports are still closed.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, I should have loaded up a number of cossacks onto a transport or two so I can wipe the cannons out after taking this city. If I hadn't been trying to rush out the door I probably would have seen this in time. Oh well, no regrets. The beer was free, and it was good.

Must be nice being AGG.

He can easily reinforce here if he feels it necessary. I'm not saying it is, but I'm not saying it isn't either. FFP, what would YOU do? lol

Hmm, maybe I'll leave this one alone on second thought. I forgot he stuffed machine guns in there. I could actually push into his more established territory more easily than take this city. Until he gets Combustion and upgrades his frigates that is.

My infantry had 5.0/20 morale left and would have been easy food. I don't need more WW and all I could airlift in this turn is an axe. I haven't used airlifts in years and forgot you couldn't just walk a unit up to the airport city with movement points left and then use it. The unit has to have been positioned the previous turn. Well, whatever. Probably for the best that I just give this project up before things get out of hand. Somehow I took the rebuke much better from WLP because he isn't a crybaby.

I'll add this to my collection next turn.

Not as sure about this one. Probably not.

Just raze it. Those people can't be effectively governed. Best to put them to the sword before they rise up against you. You can see how occupying the city has profited Wetbandit so far. alright

Also, that bit about Dominos making better pizza....If you gave your wife that kind of compliment she'd probably slap you. That's like saying "Well wife, you don't necessarily look all that fat in that dress." But I understand the sentiment -- their pizza is now less like styrofoam and more like what, cardboard? I guess that means if I find myself lost somewhere like a desert one day and for some reason my food choices are between rounding up and eating raw rattlesnake or ordering Dominoes, I'll at least consider Dominoes before I start looking for snakes. That's truly an indication that their pizza is better than it used to be! Before I would have almost thought that if you couldn't catch the snake it would be better to let the snake catch you just so you wouldn't have to order the pizza....nod

Mow 'em down.

T234

It looks like I forgot to take a shot of the event log for the kills. Sorry, FFP. alright

I only have a single injured rifle garrisoning the city. I expect wetbandit to take it back. I did not want to put more units in range of the cannons in Let's Make a Deal. If he captures and I recapture it's -2 population, the same as if he had whipped a new rifle (or more). I have units available to retake the city.

I'll probably lose the forge.

2 NE of The Price is Right. Collateral to soak up whatever his cannons do. His cannons can shred this stack but he only has 13 hitters. It wasn't necessary for me to risk these units but I want the war over before I leave town for the weekend if possible so my sub doesn't have to bother. Without doing this I could have waited another turn or two and used amphibious attacks to minimize the risk.

NE of The Price is Right.

Eleven commandos for The Price is Right.

I have four workers on a transport to build rails in neutral territory to shuttle enough attackers to finish the job. I also have 6-7 transports loaded with units. Four transports can reach Let's Make a Deal, only three can hit Xenu's pirate hideaway.

War weariness is becoming a problem but it will be dropping soon. I still have some WW with Krill that I can't shed.

TBS still hasn't turned on the juice for his CV attempt. I'm guessing he will as soon as he has tanks.
