WW20: Lair of the Lurkers

Yeah, 72 hours would just see people spinning ever wilder webs of conspiracy - it would exacerbate the overthinking problem.

Ryan - I have to say. I'm not as angry with you as Lewwyn, but I can completely understand where he is coming from. You're manufactured emotion worked because you mimicked your sincere village self in the previous game. It worked, I guess - I had to stop engaging you because I was afraid you were going to have a break down or something and I felt a littel guilty every time you blew up. But I don't appreciate being made to feel guilty for something I didn't do (don't appreciate Gaspar calling me "mean" in the lurker thread when you were just acting, either). Just don't expect any pity from me in future games - if any of your anger/frustration was sincere, I suggest you grow thicker skin before signing up for another one. You're not going to get people holding back against you any more.

(And I don't mean you're more likely to get lynched, just that I won't be as likely to hold back in attacking your weak arguments).

This has been said a lot but is untrue.
What happened that day was I did a bunch of posts -> left to check the pitbosses/eitb xxvi -> come back and see the obvious fake kill -> quickly compose the post.

I would also like to say publicly that I'm sorry if I offended anyone this game - in particular apologies to serdoa as that is the one post I am ashamed of, and shouldn't havemade regardless of alignment
Sorry guys frown

I am proud of my play up till tang last day, and don't think I was ever a lynch target until I messed up the Ryan case.
I also thought us all being on Molach VERY suspicious which is why (after an argument with ERyan ) I stopped posting so people wouldn't draw the line.

Wait?! You agree with Lewwyn?!? This has never happened before!

Look Bigger I know we've had at it but you can't put Ryan's actions on me. I was long dead at that point and if I could communicate with him I'd have to told him to cut it down. I cited him in the same post I cited you.

I think what Ryan is maybe calling fake emotion isn't really. I think he desperately wants us to think he's good and to be accepted by the group here and most of his anger/frustration/etc is coming from that. Does that make it okay? No, like I said several times I think everyone needs to tone down the rhetoric here and that absolutely includes Ryan. But I think its way overstating to say he was straight up lying, even if he's claiming it a bit.

No longer addressing specifically Bigger:

Way too much vitriol in endgame here. Look, I don't like to lose either but the town didn't play a very good game and its precisely because way too much time was spent trying to outguess the GM and not nearly enough time was spent scumhunting. Uber mentioned several times in his notes, I saw it in here, its just plain. Uberfish had the same reaction as I did when the game got rolled - based on perceived player quality, this should have been a town stomp. That it didn't work out that way is a credit to the scum and also an opportunity for town players to reevaluate their scumhunting techniques.

Well, either that or you can all insult each other in here and make the game environment more toxic and chase more players away. Your call, really.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I have to agree here - Ryan got way too invested into the game, such that once azza died it was very unpleasant for me (in the scam thread Ryan and I would but heads a bit but then azza would come along with a compromise).
Seriously read the last two days worth of posts in the scam thread - they largely consist of Ryan yelling at me about bow I'm throwing the game et al.

I enjoyed the game until azza died tho, and a lot of that had to do with RPers like ichabod and gazglum, I really do wish we could liven up the game a little (not saying I'm at all helpful with that)

I agree with everything you wrote here.

To be clear, I wasn't upset by the anger or the curse words. I try to avoid that myself, because I don't want to offend people, but it doesnt really bother me. I am more annoyed by the hissy fits - "why isn't anyone listening to me" "you all must think I'm dumb" etc. If it wasn't sincere, then just recognize its going to affect how people view you in future games. If it was sincere - you MUST get thicker skin if you plan to keep playing.

lol silly uberfish. At least we got to see dmc2 dante.

The reason why you and so many other people get so angry is that you get invested. Why? Because it's long and has over 20 people in it. One has to spend a lot of time to keep up.

I tend to get angry to. For example when I attacked Qgqqqqq right before I died in the last game. However, unlike you maybe, I tend to wait before I post and tone things down. For many reasons but here are two of them:

1. People tend not to give you what you want if you directly personally insult them.
2. If everyone aggressively insulted the game would quickly become an unplayable mess.

I guess I took it to far. I can sit from future WW games , if that would make it better for you guys. I just tried to be exactly like I was last game which is what a lot of you try to do when you play scum.

I don't think your first game as scum really, counts ryan. So giving up right now is silly. There was a good chance I was worse in my first games...
