Well the only people they have a right to be pissed off with are themselves. I'm sure I could find a few Civ4 virgins who'd have played the game better (given the time which was there to learn stuff outside the turns).
And tbh the only thing WPC could do to hurt us is to agree with CFC that if the latter declared war WPC would delete all combat units.

Being pissed off costs nothing, and I would expect no less than utter rage at sinking dozens of turns of production into a useless army that gained them nothing while their supposed friends gobbled up all the spoils. No matter that they would have gained nothing without our help anyway, because I don't think they are rational at this point.

I just want to say that I finally watched the stream (I was out of town), and really, it wasn't that bad? I was expecting much worse. I mean if it were me more would have been said. But hey we ripped the bandage off!

Keep the tundra cities, we own tGLH, no question on that point IMO.
As for Huron River if we can capture it I say we should -- we'd immediately be asked if we want to liberate it, right? I know the game rules ban city gifts but liberation is a different thing, I say. Who wouldn't want to see the event log after our "gracious act"? If we care at all about our perception regarding how we treated WPC in this war we can capture and liberate so that other teams know we had a hand in it and didn't leave WPC to fend for themselves. They may have been terrible and got nothing out of the war (and deservedly so) but never because we cheated them. No reason for us to look like jerks (even if we are! ) by leaving the appearance that we abandoned them after we were done taking our war spoils. That's an awful way to appear to have treated a war ally. I don't care if we actually treat them like jerks, I just don't want it to appear that way, so if we can score a minor public relations win through the act of liberation I say we should 100% do it that way.

The problem is, technically speaking, the only way to transfer cities is via: "City Gifting - Conquest, culture flip, UN resolution, and AP resolution are the only permitted methods of city transfer."
Technically speaking, when using the liberate option, that city will belong to you for a fraction of a turn. And I know what the rules lawyers think. Well, in that case, what does Caledorn think? I wouldn't mind some extra capture gold and experience.

I'm fully expecting a fun undocumented mod feature removing city liberation, and hence us stealing Huron River for ourselves

I had the exact same thought.
Therefore: Kill all but the last unit, do not capture!

Did we send WPC screenshots around Huron River? We should showing that the roads are gone and we will need to be creative to help them this turn.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Well said, and also unless I am missing something there's no downside: if we can liberate, then we may do it, and if we cannot, we just leave one defender in the city and that's it.

Yeah but they'd much rather capture it themselves, that way they get the capture gold and less buildings are destroyed. Having us capture and liberate it is a less ideal outcome for them.

Response from WPC:
WPC Wrote:Here's the screen shots. The first (A) shows the units in Warendorf. The second (B) shows the units one tile to the west. The two chariots are solo, and were used to destroy the roads.
We killed two cats, two elephants and another axe. We lost a pile of units, but have more coming up.
We have one catapult which could hit Warendorf this turn.
From the way they destroyed the raods, I figure it may have to wait until next turn, unless you have a pile of workers hidden somewhere.
Thanks! And I will be standing by all today.

Note: he clearly meant to say Huron River and not Warendorf. Here are the two images:
