Turn 45

Move some units around, newest galley heads south. I’m going to go along our own coast for a bit then turn south at Lake Tai, just to get more ocean area defogged. Go into the inlet, lookin’ good here:




This is a big-ish chunk of land since the river curves almost completely around that horse tile. Looks like it ends on the SE corner of the mountain hex to the south. It’s empty and resource rich. I think a settler needs to get here before the island closer to Al.

In the south I find more land:




The tundra hill is fresh-water adjacent and “L Ba” can be seen in the fog. That’s likely Lake Baikal, in which case I’ve likely located the Soviet Republic of Australia. I’ll push north and see what I find.

Woden and CMF got their sixth techs. Diamonds came out of displeased at the turn roll. Writing completes next turn.

Woden up near your capital.

That island would be great for me with those swamps but realistically you will be the one that needs to go there.

Hopefully we can find something similar i can go to later. I have 6 good sites at home.

That flood makes city 3 so much better.

I am a bit unsure about where city 4 goes. Chocolate or west of capital. Will decide when i have more info both are good sites.

i somewhat favor west of capital with early harbour to get the sea wonders down.

I've got the inspiration for State Workforce in two turns anyway - that's when the Holy Site completes. However, it'll be good to know what's beyond it. If it's PP I'll need to step up locating that third city-state for us.

Looks like Woden is intent on scouting.

Yeah sooner the better on the the city states. I think there is a science one that woden found first.

the question on wodens boat is is it the same one i saw or a second one. who knows but a second one would be interesting.

Well, if we want to mark the boat we could declare war and attack it.

I'm going to continue with my scouting plan for that galley. Woden doesn't seem inclined to do anything funny.

i assume he will wait until someone has some juicy pillage targets before getting funny and certainly pick as weak a team as possible.

Turn 46

Writing is complete and it reveals parts of the tech tree we already know. I start Mining, four turns to go. Land units are a quick fortify here, move there deal. I lock in the Campus at Obvious Child. Builder there completes in two turns and then I’ll start that district. I’m going to go horses → diamonds → rice for the improvements. Way down south I move a little north and I spy:




Russia confirmed. That means I should find Japan/England to the west and Phoenicia/Norway to our own west. I’m going to move along their coast along with checking their nearby islands. We’ll meet them next turn.

Northern galley backs out of the inlet and finds a nice spot of island to its north:




I’m more curious about this larger island but don’t want to miss something obvious. I think I’ll go east then north to check it out before continuing along the larger land mass.

My other galley goes around the Norwegians and continues down our own coast.

Archduke got his fifth civic. Marcopolo just got his third.

Finally work up the courage to defeat that barb camp. 2 Era score a eureka gold and 12 damage.



Be interested to see what happens on inter turn. But i have a promotion if needed.
