Decided to craft Cairne because I felt he fit into more of my Decks and best into my favorite (a Warrior deck, amusingly).

This is very good for for budding arena-masters.

Select class, then input the Cards you get at every pick.

Program will assign value to each of the Cards and you pick the highest card every pick.
In the beginning value assigned due to "real" Worth of Cards, as given by various arena card rankings (Ant1gravity's among others) - but picks influence the value. 1st truesilver champion in my draft was "93" Points, second Down to "86".

For instance, in my draft which I posted a few days back,
Quote:Spellbreaker/Truesilver Champion/Magma Rager
I take spellbreaker here. But this is a very close pick. I have two swords already, but I also have one owl for silence.

Arenavalue actually gives Spellbreaker value 75, the truesilver 44 and Magma rager 26. I had already taken 2 truesilvers so appears Spellbreaker was right after all. I think 44 is too low, having 3 swords is no problem so the program isn't Perfect. But a good Place to start.

I notice that the program isn't aware enough about the mana curve - some of my later picks were given lower scores being worse Cards, but I KNOW deep Down I needed them for my curve.

Check it out, heres my Paladin draft to show when it's finished: http://www.arenavalue.com/s/M7eTUm (click the highlighted card to cycle through)

I tried that tool last week, but some of the early values (without having multiple copies) were completely contradictory to Trump's ranked card list and my judgement that I stopped using it.

The auto capture feature didn't work for me either (tried multiple resolutions). I like the idea and it might be helpful for complete beginners, but especially considering things like mana curve and minion/spell ratio I feel I am better off constructing the deck myself.

I also draft by heart and feel now.

But I think it is good to avoid drafting the bad Cards - after open Beta started up it seems that there are a few players making bad drafts. Goldshire footmen and such riff-raff.

From my brief impression the program is too harsh on multiples of same (excellent) Cards - No way is 3rd consecrate & truesteel champion value 40. And even if I have picked 4 fire elementals - getting a 5th is not "Terrible". (And other 6-drops should all be "worse than terrible", not "good" like a boulderfist ogre).

Also not enough value given to 2-3 drops later on if you haven't picked up any yet. Still useful info to beginners. It also tracks Powers like "how many taunt/silence do I have" which may be useful till you learn Cards by heart...

It sounds like they're taking a huge shortcut and just assigning a discount rate to card multiples. That alone isn't a great idea as a one-size solution, but it's worse (and arguably you're better off just using a standard ratings list alone) if they're discounting for multiples but not mana curve.

I finally got my first 12 win arena run. It was a very lucky shaman draft:

This deck was basically unstoppable in the early game with 4(!) Feral Spirits, 2 hex, 2 lightning bolt, and plenty of other early control.

Al'Akir was the star of the deck for sure. I think he won me about 4 or 5 of the games. Nobody expects the Al'Akir + Rockbiter or Sergeant play in arena. One game he came down, killed a bunch of minions and I brewmastered him back up for more. Another game I put Dark Iron Dwarf and Sergeant on him when he was down for 14 extra damage and lethal.

The final boss was a mirror match with a shaman who also had Al'Akir, and I was mostly ahead on the board but it came down to top decking to where he had only 1 card left.

My Paladin deck which I posted went 7-3, good enough.

When I met a PRIEST after I was 7-0 and was thinking "How did a lousy priest make it this far? Maybe he has some good Cards, I'll have to watch out for that..."

Midgame he gets an advantage because he has Cairne - I manage to silence but lost a bit tempo. So going into the endgame I'm not completely recovered (Board status decent, but a bit low on Health) - "Oh Hello Ragnaros". Lost Board and Down to 1 Health. Manage to play 3 minions, including silence and defender of argus, so I get to live a bit more. Take back Board and start thinking I can win this after all.

"Oh hello Deathwing".

I played against someone with 2 Sylvanas yesterday.

That's just the thing with arena, to get to 12 wins you need a certain amount of luck during deck construction.

Yay! I did my first 12 wins in Arena too! Went With a mage, of course. lol

I don't think the deck was particularly spectacular, only 1 flamestrike, 1 fireball and 1 polimorph. No legendaries. But I had insane luck draw through the series, always getting the cards I needed when I needed them.

Coolest moment of the run was the 11th win, when another mage used Millhouse manastorm on turn 4, when I had Auctioneer in my hand and 2 spells (for my turn 5). Nothing particularly impressive (a better deck could have lethaled him right there lol ), but it was fun.

The run ended 12-1.
