Re: the update, I downloaded the UserSettings folder and put it in the mod folder. I was able to log in and play my turn, but the game gave me an error that I would crash upon login since the mod versions were different. (A different error from my usual "you files don't match the host" one.) But everything seemed to work ok.

Ramk added some code to check versions before login in to avoid crashing the server. You are most likely seeing that message and Ramk will have a look at the whole issue. I for one did not have any such problems, but I had not added the UserSettings folder at the time of my login.

I updated the in-game way, and had no problems or even messages about problems.

Just a heads up, ill be gone from Sunday May 2nd (earrrrrly that day US time) to around afternoon on Tuesday May 4th as ill be taking a trip to Vegas. Ill hopefully be able to leave some instructions and signs in game if a lurker can cover those turns?

Well, only change to me is the ugly and annoying "Bug option - cannot find settings folder" spammed half a dozen times in the middle of my screen. Otherwise, works. :-/

I downloaded the mod and tried to play, but it crashed to desktop. Help?

Did you put in the user settings folder / make sure it is named 2.0? (depending where you downloaded from)

I downloaded the mod from PBspy and overwrote the old 2.0 folder, which seems to have worked fine.

Deleted the old one, and downloaded again. Renamed. Crashed to desktop.

Not trying to be obtuse, but I'm frustrated by the process and now the execution, it's late and I'm going to bed.

You should not have to rename it if you download from PBSpy.
