Would you get circumnavigation after you researched Optics if you before circumnavigate the globe? Or is it possible that it does not register in that case?

I would like to point out that more options is not "free".  More options means more things to be voted on or discussed for every game and more possible sources of confusion for new players or players not paying as much attention.  So I would only include game options that provide real value and have a good chance to be used in a given game.  I mentioned something related to this in my pregame posts for PB55 but perhaps you did not take my point seriously because my phrasing was rather in jest.

As a corollary to this, I think the inflation modifier option should be removed from CtH because too many people don't understand what it does and they vote for it without realizing what's happening.  And I still don't see any argument that it's worthwhile at all.  I would not be opposed to testing increased tech costs for later eras (I think starting with Renaissance - I wouldn't adjust Medieval or earlier), although I'm not sure the mod is in such a state that it's time to test these lower priority items just yet.

You are right I did take your PB55 post the wrong way. I will have a closer look at all the game options and how important they are. In case of the inflation modifier I can say I already had planned to disable that game option.

You would get circumnavigation after you researched Optics. The game always checks for circumnavigation every turn until you got it.

Would it then be possible to have a reminder icon on compass to indicate circumnavigation?

I like the lumbermills at MC , gives other oportunities, but i realy think there time of building is realy prohibitive.9 turns considering steping on a forest is huge investment that early. Did you considered to reduce the time to build one? I dont see why should be more expensive then a mine or cottage, then perhaps more people will start to build them.Even so will be very few used becasue takes long term to pay back and game is still in the period i need hammers now .

I had considered it, but I would like to do one step at a time. Don't want to make lumbermills the best tile improvement all of a sudden.

+1

As a warning, I don't like adding to change log, so the question is if the time was reduced to the same as a mine would people then build them? I also don't think it is that hard of a change to understand so not a huge change log issue in any case, just mentioning.

Getting 1 hammer  plus? When you can chop and get 30 hammers and build a much needed cotage? or if is on a hill chop mine gave 30 hammers upfrond and after right like a lumbermill?

Usauly people go writing mathemathics for better chope, some times go for MC if they are industious, perhpas having this cheaper lumberbils makes MC with more apeal, maybe I said, and this way there are more option how to play. And realy why a lumbermill should be more expensive then a mine?(do you people ever seen a mine  rolleye)
