PBEM7: Email and Technical Issues

I'm fine with that as well.

It looks like I won't have access to Civ all next week after all since it seems to be confirmed that Mac is not compatible with PC. Though I'm not keen on the idea I am willing to find a sub to play turns for me while I'm gone so that you all don't have to wait unil I get back to get started. My one request would be awesome if we could start teh game tomorrow so I could at least log in and play the first turn and give feedback (settling first city is kind of a big deal!). The other option would be a turn player subbing for me could send me a screenshot. I will have full internet access all week, just not PC access.

What do y'all think?

I don't mean to pressure Krill to finish the map faster than he can, hence the screenshot option.

I think we can start by tomorrow if Krill can get the map finished by then. I know I can at least. Serdoa probably won't be picking his leader for 5-6ish hours I'm guessing if yesterday was any indication of his timezone, but once he's done that we are good to go. For the first few turns that you'll miss, have your sub take good screenshots so that you can see and comment on it.

We need to start posting our email addresses here that we'll be using for the game. For the first turn or so we'll just email it along, and I'll attempt to get the PBEM Tracker set up after a couple turns - once we've each renamed our leader in game or whatever you'd like to do. So I'll start:

If Krill has it ready in time, would everyone be okay with me going first to make sure I get to play the first turn before leaving? I realize that there is a slight advantage to playing first so if it's a big deal, we can randomize who goes first. I'd just really like to play the first turn myself rather than via screenshot.

This being my first PBEM, what are the logistical steps that are necessary for me to have a sub for a week? I'm assuming I will just forward the save email on to my sub and tell them my password. If that's not correct, I await enlightenment!

You might even consider just not setting the password on the game at first, and then setting it after the sub leaves. It can be set in the "Your Details" section of the game if I remember correctly... So they'll just need to play the save, hit enter, and then email me the save. If you do set a password, then yeah you'll want to give it to them.

When are you leaving Dazed? It sounded like tomorrow - when tomorrow? I ask because Krill said yesterday that it would be done Saturday night, and I'm curious how much earlier than that would it have to be done for you to be able play the first turn before you leave.

I leave at 6am EST (10am GMT) on Saturday, so it doesn't sound like it'll make it to me in time. In which case we might want to ask Krill to have me go last instead of first, if it's not too late. That way you all aren't waiting on me and my sub to get the details going.
