b) Build TGL sedately
c) Skip TGL
Spaceman? scooter? Zakalwe?
Can you sim out the rest of the game and see whether we would be ahead or not?

Maybe your C&D department could help you with that. Spaceman and I are still debating the C&D budget costs, if worse comes to worst the entire C&D could undergo shutdown. zakalwe Wrote:How many workers would you need for that? If you want to be sure to get it, your T38 plan seems solid. With max overflow from a lighthouse whip we'd still need nine chops pre math. So a one turn build seems impractical, a two turn build could be doable, though.

Of course the other way to use 9 forests to gain an economic advantage is to research masonry and mathematics and chop the Pyramids. With a low happy cap and cheap libraries, Representation should suit us quite well. It also saves us the trouble of researching Monarchy. By the way - sandbox updated to T5.
I have to run.
Sim of the day. Got TGL as a two-turn build EOT38. Researched Pottery before Fishing->Sailing->Masonry.
To get TGL in two turns, with four workers: T-2: Two-pop whip lighthouse, and add a chop on top. T-1: Chop four forests into TGL T0: Chop four forests into TGL* *Actually, in my sim I only needed three chops due to decent production in Bombay. I only had three forests left too, because I spent a forest earlier to chop/whip a granary/workboat in Bombay.
I have to run.
That does seem like a solid play.
I guess the other option would be to expand like crazy and chop out the Pyramids + HG, using the great engineer to rush the other TGL, and relying on representation scientists for research while the commerce goes to maintenance.
Shoot the Moon and Darrell, who both start with Agri/The Wheel, discovered a tech, probably Mining.
I have to run.
