hmm.. I may have an opportunity to put a hurting on luddite. Chances are, he doens't have a spear in that stone city. I doubt he even has copper hooked up.

He might have a chariot there, though, and MAYBE an archer.

Could I kill/take that city?

Missed hinduism, so went to writing for a couple of cheap libs. Making another chariot... see what happens. Will be able to grow the cap in any case...

or... no opportunity at all. scooter showed up with 3 war chariots. Fortunately, he sent 1 ahead, so I get a little bit of prep time.

so, chariots don't even get culture bonuses.

so, I moved one chariot back to whereeveryouare.
Moved the new one to the horses.
Fortified my warriors.

Switched to archery (2 turns). Max hammers. I'll get a warrior in 2 in whereeveryouare, a chariot in 1 in My Nightmare. That will overflow into a warrior and then into an archer. My Nightmare should be safe unless scooter had a ton more chariots.

I HOPE that Scooter tries to kill the chariot on the horses - if so, I (hopefully) kill him with the other chariot (which will promote), which then means I'll have more defenders than he has attackers everywhere. Still bad odds for me, but with the archer in My Nightmare, I should be ok.

I think he'll pillage my new cottage and consolidate his stack. If he does that, I'm not sure what the best play is - probably to either consolidate my units or to hit his stack with my chariots.

Dunno if I'll survive this...

I KNEW scooter was near me, I knew he had war chariots (cause I had horses) and I didn't put my 2nd city down near the copper. I would have spears by now and would almost certainly be safe.

ok - I might survive this cluster.

So, he didnt' attack me, but he did leave a war chariot exposed. so, I hit it with a chariot and it did some damage. So I hit with the chariot from WhereeverYouAre and it did no damage, at all. So, now I'm thinking that I'm dead - he's got 3 chariots that have odds on my units.

So, I have to take another low-odds attack with my 3rd chariot.. and I win!!! get 4 xp on my chariot and can move back into MyNightmare!!

I'll will build another warrior in MyNightmare, which will overflow into an archer. I have a warrior building in WhereeverYouare, so I might well survive this! Unless another war chariot shows up.

I'll have 2 warriors and a wounded chariot that won't defend in My Nightmare and about a 50% chance of killinG one of his attacking war chariots (25% hill, 25% city defense, 25% fort, 40% culture - the other is the same without the fortification)

He can't attack WhereEverYouAre. I get a warrior there and enough overflow to get another the next turn, so he can't take that.

I get an archer in My Nightmare after the warrior with the overflow I get... so, I am cautiously thinking that I'm ok, despite some weedy decisions.

I survived!!!

He attacked My Nightmare and killed the warriors. I promoted my chariot and got a little better than 50% odds on his less hurt chariot, so I went for it (I figure the archer could handle a really hurt chariot). Looking back, I might have been better off fortifying, since I'd heal more and gotten better odds, so that was probably a decision that worked out... cause I won! pretty handily, actually - got a 3 xp for it.

I have an archer coming out in My Nightmare and I started another in Whereeveryou are.

I actually moved my warriors out so his chariot couldn't get away - actually, so he couldn't kill the horses - but also, to keep him from getting away.

Wow - I surived my first MP war chariot rush. Go me.

I will try to re-create the events of the war tonight... that was very exciting. It's not over - scooter could show up with 2 or 3 more war chariots, which could be a problem, though I'm going to go to slavery next turn and whip out the settler for the copper.

Spears should stop this nonsense...

ok, in the grand scheme of MP battles... this doesn't rate.

But it was fun

So, opening:

This was right after I thought about going to bug luddite. Fortunately, I hadn't gotten very far and I was building a chariot.

I think that if scooter had waited a turn and dumped 3 war chariots where he put that first one, I would have been hosed. As it is, we both made some decisions that I think were weedy.

So, I responded by putting a chariot on my horses, bringing the chariot that was on the way to luddite, changing to a 2 turn archery and building military - a 1 turn chariot and a 1 turn warrior.

I couldn't even switch to slavery, because that would delay archery and I needed archers. I needed to survive 2 turns.

The chariot was to entice an attack and then I could kill the war chariot. It's easier to deal with 2 warchariots than three and I could easily 1 turn warriors.

I thought he might bring his stack together and pillage my cottage. What I think he SHOULD have done was kill my chariot and then pull his stack together - then i lose a unit and he still has a stack. What he did was.

I don't much understand the point of this. I guess he got more information... but he didn't deny me the cows and his stack is split.

Now, things don't look great - I pretty much have to kill one of those chariots, cause I can't get 4 defenders into my city and he's got a pretty damn good chance of killing 3. and I'm still 2 turns from an archer.

So I hit that single chariot with one of mine at 25% odds and I scratch it- not hard, but some. So, I figure I hit it again with another chariot and hurt it more, maybe kill it... and it does no damage.

Now I'm in trouble. I have 3 chariots and 3 defenders - 2 warriors and a chariot (the 2nd warrior will be built before he attacks). I pretty much HAVE to attack that chariot again and either kill it or really, really hurt it. So I do, at the same odds as the other one. And I win

I think these attacks make sense - I had about 70-80% chance of killing the injured chariot. That I lost the first one without a scratch was actually worst case - but at that point, i was completely committed to attacking that chariot.

next turn, scooter hits me and kills my warriors, but they do damage.

here I make what I think is a weedy decision.

I promote my chariot and have slightly better than 50% odds on his top chariot. I should do a lot of damage if I die so with the archer, my city should be safe (attacks on my archer are something like 2.5 on 7.2), but if I had healed, I'd have gained 20 more HP and been able to do more damage when I attacked. I basically endangered my chariot for nothing.

But he won. So, next turn, I'll have a 2 promo chariot to kill his last one (I think he might delete it to deny me the XP - he might try to kill a warrior first. or he might pillage my cottage, i dunno.

So, I'm safe unless scooter has another stack.

his chariot left and i didn't pursure. Why? Well, he got a promo and it healed up to 3.5. So, killing the one I could kill was a good idea.

I have demos on scooter, so I can keep a watch on him.

Though - his power graph was never all that much stronger than mine - it's just that his war chariots kick ass vs anything but spears and I didn't have any.

My Nightmare -> settler (2 turns) -> lib
WhereeverYouAre->lib (10 turns or so)

I'll revolt as soon as I build the settler.
