stick and AT, it's intended as a small compensation to players who go later in the turn order. 1/2/3/4 might not be the preferred snake pick order. And it's just 3 picks (as opposed to 7 in a full snake pick), shouldn't take long.
kjn, you pick position 4? If so, you're up stick.

Aren't we doing the standard reverse order?
If we do 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 then I pick 1, of course.

It's still 1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1, else there wouldn't be much point in picking order Do we want to start discussing using the order kjn suggested instead? I'm not opposed to it, even though it disadvantages me. I think it might overcompensate the turn order, would be interesting to see.

No, do the standard snake pick, and I take 4.

It causes just as much confusion last time, I honestly don't get it I do actually think kjn's idea of going 4-3-2-1-4-3-2-1 is good, should be tried out sometime.

Hum, I was thinking a 34-esque archer, but now I'm thinking maybe just an extra CG3 warrior, less choky, more defensive.

Just decide the unit situation before we start our picks.

We could make a rule that the archer never enters another civ's culture, if we want to do an archer.
A CG3 warrior isn't bad - it defends against anything that can be thrown at it in the early game, but is vulnerable to axes and even chariots, so it isn't an automatic stop on early warfare.
