Ah, as if an ad for AT using an ax in AW. Am thinking AP, ay?

So, I think I shouldn't have played this 3rd tight game. Honestly, I'm not paying all that much attention and I have no idea how I'm doing. Sticks (I think - might have been kjn - I can tell who it is, I just don't remember) built Oracle and so I presume got MC.

Catwalk has a metric ton of spears running around his land - I think his military is all spears and that axe.

he's still the one I'm best suited to attacking, cause he doesn't have impi or skirmishers, though.

a few turns ago, i went 0% to get some gold... I completely forgot to switch, so I have a LOT of gold wink

So, what's happening? From score, etc, it looks like you're doing pretty well.

busy at work, which is why i haven't post much.

I have 3 cities: Lava, Muscle and Pitch. Lava is the biggest city in the land, size 9.

I went to go take a size 5 barb city up by an area with stone and a ton of corn... unfortunately, an impi showed up and killed a war chariot with 8 xp that I hadn't had the change to promote, so that's a little annoying. I'll have to kill the city if he is in danger of taking it, which is annoying - I was hoping to hold it.

Oracle's been built, nothing else.

so, moved an axe to disrupt one of catwalks workers. He moved away, but still - something wink

Someone got an engineer, so I'm guessing Pyramids is up next.

killing random barb warriors - that city got another warrior, so it's safe from impis. And I'm sending up an axe to chase away annoying impis...

Building another settler for the deer/silver/sheep area.

Got currency - CoL soon, though IW for right now - have some jungle to clear, after all. Am putting hammers into Henge. if I get it, great - if not, cash is good.

Got my settler. 8 turns to henge - not sure why it's still available now, but what the hell.

Kjn I guess got the engineer, but he didn't build mids, so i presume a bulb? I suppose I could go back and look at the score. Crossbows are tough if that's what he did, but they are expensive and not game breakers - 2 war chariots should deal with an xbow well.

Typicaly, really. My first actual attack on an opponent - I have an uncovered axe that I get 88% odds on with a war chariot and I die...

About to found Silver. it's a bit of a coincidence that this town is Silver, as it's actually next to the silver.

the Impis have backed off, so i might be able to get the barb city after all - if I do, it'll be a nice little city.

About to get CoL, then I think I need more happy, so calendar. Though i might go for HR.

Surprised Pyramids hasn't gone yet.

Some pics (because inquiring minds want to know!!)

My land:

My cities:

The cap, Lava, basically my science:

Muscle, coincidentally my major military city:

Pitch, which is building Henge and will probably be a combo city, cottages and mil

Silver, another combo city (I'm going to build a lot of military in this game... surprise)

Current demos - I'm eh

[Image: 52-57demos.JPG]. The GNP is at 100%, which I can't sustain. I'm not worst, not best.

And the prize to the north:

That's an insane city - THREE wet corns, stone and some hills and rivers. Frankly, it's an amazing site. I am not sure why no one else is making a huge push. It's probably the best city site on the map.

Why are you working an unimproved grass hill (granted, it's riverside) over a riverside grass cottage?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Cause I'm building stonehenge and it gets me there a turn earlier. And that hill gets a mine soon.

Overall, it's probably just the same if I worked the cottage and switch to the mined hill, but I did it this way.
