Too bad. Scout is probably still best moved S-SE, even if based on normal normalization process it probably doesn't offer us better settling positions. It would just be still too costly to find it out after settling. It seems a bit like there would be sea where the river starts so GLH could be probably built there, but nerfed version isn't really worth settling capital badly.

This seems the best course of action unless settling on some of those forested hills in the south gives 3rd food in.

I logged in and took a look. The tiles marked with an "f" are fresh water. So the tile NE of the forested plains hill is probably a lake, and we won't have a coastal capital there.
I'm still not sure where to move the scout...
I have to run.

Maybe move the scout S-SE, and if there's nothing nice there, consider moving blindly SW-SW with the settler. There's a chance that the plains hill was turned into a grass hill because it also caught another resource, overpowering it. Though it's also pretty likely that whatever's in the fog was rebalanced if that's the case.
If you know what I mean.

Yeah I could do that. If the blind move doesn't work out we just settle 1W of the corn on T1.

I like more just settling T0 on the plains tile, if scout doesn't find anything worthwhile S-SE. I've some experience on map makers thought processes ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) and find it quite unlikely we would gain anything significant from moving SW-SW. It is more likely we weren't supposed to have a plains hill+preserve both visible foods.

Maybe so. I'll move the scout S-SE then, at any rate.

So it's settling 1SW or moving 2SW with the settler.
From a metagaming perspective, neither Commodore, Pindicator or Serdoa saw anything worth moving for. Moving 2SW costs a turn and also delays hooking up corn by a turn, so I'm leaning towards settling 1SW.
