Well, you need to have that, and start a game in a file named 11.1, whilst there is a dummy file with EitB v11.1 in it.

Hit me up on chat if you're confused after that.

There is somthing wrong with the save file I sent to Q.
Here is the message.
I'm playing with v11.1, that's ok.
But I'm not sure what the next lines mean. can someone explain what the second line means ?

Lion, the save you send me always starts to load one without the suffix (11.1), and then fails because of asset issues. This (probably) means you've installed the correct mod, but renamed straight EitB and are loading off that (which doesn't work because my base EitB file contains a bunch of experimental changes which are from v12).

You need to have two files in you /mod file - one titled "Erebus in the Balance" (which can be from any version since v9), and the other, through which you will start the pbem, entitled "Erebus in the Balance v11.1" which must have the correct files from the v11.1 download.

Capish?

I think I understand.

I'm not totally sure how to start the PBEM from "Erebus in the Balance v11.1" though
does it mean I have to start my civ session by double clicking it ?
I guess I have to start a new game using that procedure ?

I hope I'm not too obtuse about it, I usually am rather computer fluent but I think there is something in the procedure you take for granted and that I don't know.
btw, on loading the mod I renamed the directory without v11.1 , because it is indicated in the installation procedure. Is that what I need to undo ?

And all this is just start of game glitches; I hope it will soon be running smoothly.

Rename your directory back to include v11.1 Q's instructions were not good. The instructions are install eitb 11 then install eitb 11.1 . Play all games from Erebus in the Balance v11.1 folder.

My instructions were good, Kragroth. So fuck off.

You need to be in-game in the v11.1 mod to start the pbem. This can occur by double-clicking it (if your game works that way), loading through the mod folder whilst in-game in another version/BTS.

That is not what you need to undo. What you need to do, if you didn't get it before, is to copy-paste your Erebus in the Balance mod folder, so that you have one withv11.1 as a suffix, and one without.

Don't copy folders. Don't rename folders. These are bad practices that got us in trouble with Northstar and now Old Lion. Install eitb 11 then eitb 11.1 . Play eitb 11.1 exclusively and you're done.

As suggested in the other forum, for future versions just have the installer install a eitb folder and then a eitb ver # version. This will make it easier for all.

...Kragroth, there's nothing wrong with renaming folders. Downloading a (large) extra unnecessary file is unnecessary, and costs in internet use.
