We logged in at the same time. wink

All right, at least Whosit got the Parthenon rather than someone else. smile

Ok, done now! Take a look!
We got an interesting mail from Whosit!

NAP with Plako renewed while Jowy keeps holding off.

Nakor what do you think about building an archer in the capital for HR purposes? If we buid a spear then that takes up an extra turn and it won't be in time for Rolan before it grows to size 10 and gets unhappy. I'd build an archer myself, and cancel the galley build in Crydee and build either a unit or walls.

Otherwise, looking good. I like Krondor's situation, it will get 2 troops in 2 turns. smile

EDIT: Further support for archer, our capital serves as our research center, other cities should do the whipping + unit production methinks.

EDIT2: We have a worker near Sethanon on the sheep that's set to go on the gold - what is it going to do?

Archer sounds good to me. We got 2 spears ready as well now, so feel free to change it.

I'd like to get a galley in the outer seas to get to that island south of us and settle there. Crydee can whip it OR Rolan can build it, you decide.

The worker is moving there to pasture the sheep near Stardock (border pop in 2t) and then ship to Centralia, OR chop another forest near Sethanon OR chop another forest near Krondor.

Once the spear is finished in Krondor, shall we start pumping cat's there? Chops will help!

Whosit offered us to sign a Mutual Protection Pact. Can you read the mail and give me your thoughts?

I read the mail, and we definitely need to find some way to get as many praetorians as we can in the following turns. We will almost certainly be the victim of a Romali war on turn 135, with India joining in on 150. India could also give a lot of their forces to Romali too, which wouldn't surprise me at all.

So ... a galley's not going to help much. We need units. Everything from now on should be about defending ourself, because ... we did lie and cheat to India, so we are their next target. Rome and Inca are too far away for them, and the Ottoman are powerful enough to withstsand their attack right now. Attacking Korea for them wouldn't make any sense from a gameplay perspective.

If India did attack with, say, about 20-25 units like they did before, then we should expect something up to 40 units of attack force to defend.

Novice, here's the message:

Quote:Dear Nakor (and DMOC),

Thank you. We hope that the Parthenon will signal the cultural dominance of the Imperial way of life. smile

We are of course interested in foreign investments. We are willing to accept whatever you will give. Unfortunately, our costs are extremely high, so it would not be feasible to ask for enough money to run at 100%, but a little bit of cash should keep us above 0%. If you wish to exchange cash for units, we can discuss something. We will have to decide what an appropriate exchange rate would be. Each Praetorian is 45 hammers and represents a significant investment for us. Make us an offer, and we can work from there. At the moment, my main production cities are producing Settlers (one for Centralia, one to send to Jowy), but they can resume military production in a few turns. So, let me know if you wish to make a donation, a loan, a purchase, or a combination, and what terms you are looking for.

I will keep my scout roaming around Dantski's territory to see if I notice anything threatening. He has a few troops in Gao, but there are only five units and they appear to be mainly defensive. However, he has built a few Swordsmen, so that may indicate a hostile intent.

I know that this is not directly relevant to the current topic, but I would like to bring up another proposal. Perhaps it would be useful for us both. I am worried about an eventual attack from Korea, and you are worried about a betrayal from the Romali. Perhaps we should announce a Mutual Protection Pact in the Public Thread? Ideally, we could sound out each other's opponent to try and see if that would be effective (you speak to Korea, I to Dantski). I'm not exactly sure how to go about that, but perhaps express interest in fighting a mutual foe, but wondering what they will do if allies jump in on the other side. The Koreans have already courted you, so it probably won't be difficult to open "discussions" with them. I could try suggesting to Dantski that I'm looking to "expand" again and see if I can get him to divulge his plans that way. In any case, it's possible that such an announcement would give them pause. That, or they will just coordinate an attack, ha ha.

I am still hoping to launch a coordinate strike against the New Republic with the assistance of the Rebels. Slaze is up to 10 cities(!) and shows no sign of slowing down. He is still vulnerable now, I believe, but once he stops settling and actually builds his defenses and economy, he may be a threat that rivals the Killer Angels. This is why I want to stop him now, and why I hope to ward off the threat from Korea and Romali. Let me know what you think. If you have any other ideas on how to delay an attack from our mutual foes, I am all ears.

Best regards,

Whosit, Galactic Emperor

I send a mail to Killer Angels to discuss the future.

DMOC, how do you suggest we prepare for war? We could get Feudalism in about 10 turns, maybe just in time to whip some LB's.
Or is there a better plan to get better military? MC - Machinery will take way longer.

I suggest we trade settlers/workers for Praetorians from whosit. I also recommend that after Monotheism we get Feudalism ASAP and whip longbowmen.

We need as many 8.8 str praets as we can get.

For some reason Dantski now wants the NAP to be extended to turn 150? Ah well, he probably wants him and India to combine at the same time.

We should definitely tech feudalism ASAP. Like, right now. We're done with Monotheism right? Maybe we should skip on a switch to Organized Religion?

EDIT: If we're not done with Mono, then just ignore it and switch to Feudalism, a higher priority tech now.

I agreed to the NAP and will switch to Feudalism.
Should get that in about 10t. So we've got about 12 turns after that to build LB's.

Going to play the turn now.
