Sandbox for t89 (ie after this turn rolls). I think the beakers and cash are correct but we're three hammers short on the spear in Dunkirk.
I've changed my mind on the bug - Commodore and Scooter had already finished turn, so it was probably Bacchus.
Another suggested slight change to the worker micro - t90 worker G moves NW and starts a road, t91 he finishes the road t92 he gets on the galley. This means we only have two workers to improve the sugar once calender comes in. Currency comes in eot94 and Calender eot99 at the moment.
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57

Turn 89
Finally we get turn 89. Aaaand Plako scores the Great Lighthouse. It only gets one extra trade route, but still, why couldn't it have been someone else? Anyway, we can unload Lunch onto the indicated tile this turn or onto the "Road 92-93" tile next turn. I'm inclined to the latter as it lets him stick to defensive terrain.
YossarianLives and the workboat reveal a bit more land. With another seafood resource that peninsula could be good for a city. I think we have time for the workboat to scout around to dtay's border before he needs to get back to the whale. Otherwise the land between us is pleasingly desolate. I hope dtay feels no inclination to settle towards us for a little while...
So far so good on the Hastings plan, we have an axe and two bowmen with a third finishing this turn along with the settler. I've set Cannae to a bowman for growth, although another worker would be handy. At what point do we want to think about building a lighthouse? It's only likely to get us one extra food per turn, so perhaps never?

I didn't end turn in case you want to unload Lunch?

Logged in to end turn and noticed Ichabod has met us with a work boat south of France... I left our EPs on slow, but I think Ichy is going to be a longer-term threat:
Looks like Slow declared, but Ichy took a city off him so long ago that the war weariness ran out... WilliamLP is near Ichabandit as well as Pindicooter. Is AGG Ichy fighting everyone? Should we switch our EPs before the turn rolls?

I'll be at home in ~5 hours and can then reply to everything! Regarding this turn (Lunch & EPs) I think everything is fine! Just for the record, I've been reading every post and if I would have been disagreeing with anything I would have sent a quick post! For now everything looks good, but I think soon we'll need to start thinking how we are actually going to play the turns 95-110 (couple of rough sandbox runs and aligning the main targets will be a good start).

I think your gamble worked perfectly for the first 140 turns and nobody punished you from having more or less only warriors. You just forgot to tell your replacement that now it's the time to build units!

I haven't checked this yet, but based on my past micro runs I agree with this!

Yeah, it would have been better if it had been someone else. Let's hope that his neighbors can at least punish him a bit through faster expansion.

That penisula looks really interesting. It seems possible that dtay does not have a land connection to the area. If our WB does not reveal more food resources settling our 11th-15th city NW of clams could be an option

Fingers still crossed! If we manage to settle and hold Hastings and City J as planned our expansion to east must be considered as a success.

Yeah, I guess we will still need a couple of bowmen so those hammers won't be wasted. Re lighthouse: Maybe that should be calculated.. +1 food surplus has always value and eventually we might work some coast as well, but because the initial investment is 60 hammers, the payback seems to come pretty late.. IIRC Cannae needs to stagnate for 3 turns as it waits for whale + sugar to come online. We might want to consider putting a turn or 2 into a worker and double-whipping it. Although, we kind of want to work as many cottages as possible in Cannae so whipping is painful..

Yeah, Ichabod is definitely doing very well when we take into account that he already lost a city and seems to have a conflict with slowcheetah as well. It would be interesting to see what kind of land he has to play with. But yeah, I'm fine with getting slow's graphs first and then Ichabod's
Quote:WilliamLP is near Ichabandit as well as Pindicooter.
Interesting. I think William LP should be located either W, SW or S of Ichabod. We might be even neighbors. You think Pindicooter's are there because of that earlier city raze civstats info? You are surely right, but IIRC there was also another option, but I can't remember who it was anymore.
I've been thinking about circumnavigation lately. We are surely not getting it via scouting, but with well timed map trades we might have a small chance of getting a 50-50 shot at it.That would of course be huge. If we would need to make move immediately, trading maps with Ichabod and Yurimack would be my best bet. However, we will probably only get a one chance for trying this and I don't think that we are that far yet. Maybe in 10 turns..

Hey Harry!
I made a micro change! I switched a plains hill mine and fish tile between Agincourt and BoP (both producing settlers)
I think BoP should work the fish tile during the turns T89 and T90. In this way BoP reaches 50/100 production eot90 and the settler can be double-whipped already on T91, which means that City I will be founded one turn sooner. The worker micro on the island fits this plan and the galley is also in place early enough. I checked and capital can also finish its settler eot94 even though we channel two hammers into BoP.
I think getting city I one turn earlier up (T94) is beneficial for us, but if there are strong arguments why we should delay the whip by 1 turn go ahead and switch those tiles back!

I read this too late, but I'll take care of it.

Hmm.. How about we raze that city and keep the original plant?
