Also, as we have our own corn now, we're basically giving CH a free Clams. Can you log in to renegotiate it to Wine + Clams for his spare Ivory? It might be a deterrence for Adrien.
Actually he has Clams now as well. I offered straight Wines for Ivory as there didn't seem to be anything else we didn't have in common.

The situation: Elum loaded back his HA on the galley. Adrien's Galley is possibly as marked. I'm thinking move warrior to Hsung-Nu as planned, while moving Spear 1S to cover both cities. (Also, we need 2 names). Trireme exploration south looks good.
Grimace also has a +4 Fair and Forthright with Adrien, which might be a gold loan?

We whipped an Axe in AL, right?
I'd move the Warrior SE into the city, put the Spear in AL and move the new Axe 1E into forest - that's a Spear & Axe in each city, Axe covering both and an extra Warrior in the East that can be promoted if needed. The Trireme should drive Elum's Galleys away (for now) and will be a nasty surprise for Adrien if he is advancing with the Praet.
I'm easy on names, so if you find good ones, just go ahead and use them. Otherwise I'll take a look at the list when I can.
I'd suggest promoting the Axe in HN incase Adrien attacks - although if he was planning it I'm surprised the Northern Axe didn't close on the city. He also has to do it next turn otherwise the border pop will bounce him.
Are we thinking of a city 1NE of Wheat? If so, we should try to get that down soon.

Sounds good.

Good point. Will find someplace to build a Settler.

T129: Neighbours continue to be a pain
(yes, I very much prefer to do SP-mode buildfest)
The (relatively) good: Adrien holds both his axes, brings up a Praetorian.

IMO we can't allow the praetorian to attack axe in city (C1 Shock + 50% city attack) so we need to move our C2 Shock Axe and Spear on the forest hill, borders pop eot so he'll need to bash his way through them.
The bad: Elum unloads 3HA. Trireme vs Galley odds is 88.1% with 1.2% retreat odds.

I read it as he is hell-bent on capturing AL and is disabling the corn so our whipping capabilities are diminished. I'm for killing the right hand galley. Likely the second galley will beat our trireme but it's 1) an even hammer trade 2) slows his transport of troops.
We can whip a 5/30 spear, and chop another spear if needed next turn. We also have a chariot + axe/spear coming from 2.5", so I'm not very concerned. It's just a pain.
Also, someone got a scientist and Taoism was founded in a distant land, Elum converted to Judaism + Vassalage + Pacifism.

Can't see the pictures at work unfortunately, so some of this is guesswork!
Agreed on keeping the Praetorian at arm's length. Good news is that Adrien just lost a city to johns, so he can't focus on us right now.
Trireme should definitely attack one of the Galleys. It should probably be the one closer to his territory, which may be able to pick-up more troops and return faster; unless we think there's a unit on the other one, in which case we should sink it. (what happened to the HA at HN?) Solution is, of course, moar Triremes!
If we get good odds (>85%) for attacking a HA with the Spear, we should do so this turn. Then we whip as you suggested and chop if needed (shouldn't be). I'd also keep the Chariot out of site on the Fort in reserve for now - it can reach both fronts from there if needed, and it doesn't see we have a definite target for it yet.

I am an idiot and can't count hammers, but we should hold both AL and Nidaros if Elum tries to swing towards it. Trireme got unlucky and is at 0.2/2. Johns took the Gold city across the water E of Service Pack which is great.
Elum looks to be going for Crossbowmen which will kill all our current defenders. Archers will hold AL (on hill) but not Nidaros. We will likely need to go for HBR next.

Sad about the Trireme, but as you said in chat, going for the further one means that if he kills it it pulls his Galley away from resupplying.
Counter to crossbows is Longbows, right?
How are our Northern borders looking; anything suspicious happening up there?

It'll be close, but we should be able to hold Nidaros. We have good odds on lose some units though

All's quiet on that front.

Adrien razed a size 9 city of johns
Edit- Dreylin says that it might not be a raze because the event log only mentioned the capture, but the civstats registers score change of Adrien from 669->685->669. We only have map visibility on the tile. Would any lurkers be able to confirm the mechanics?
On another note we have a formation spear; report to come tomorrow.
