The thing I found funny with the asterisks is that several times I'd be reading a post, hit an asterisk and think, "Oh good, there's a follow up footnote," and scroll to the bottom of the post only to be disappointed, "Damn asterisks again!" This even fooled me twice in the same post
And for the record I don't think it has any relevance whatsoever to scooter's innocence or guilt.

I did the same thing and bet that we weren't the only ones . Damn that scooter is so obvious wolf, trying to spread chaos in the village...
zakalwe Wrote:In a sense, it might even be good for the village if people stop listening to me for a while, because it will force the wolves to work harder to come up with their own theories. Maybe I should focus more exclusively on identifying villagers for now, so I don't give the wolves an opportunity to hide in my wake.
Does anybody have any opinions on this? Should I instead change tacks and go on an aggressive rampage, so we can see how people react?
@Gaspar. When you check in, I'd like to hear your take on Scooter. Do you want to punch him in the face?
After an exciting race yesterday between scooter and Erebus, with Erebus falling behind and being torn apart by the angry mob, you retired to your homes.
During the night, things are quiet...too quiet. In the morning you find Mr. Nice Guy in the town square, sans blood and hands. He's lying next to a pile of bloodsoaked herbs and mystical devices that none of you have a clue how to operate.
Mr. Nice Guy was killed! Mr. Nice Guy was the Baner!
Ultimately, I don't think me clamming up in fear of inadvertently leading another mislynch serves any purpose. This place is too quiet as it is. I'll put a vote down for Twinkletoes, because he's one of the players who haven't convinced me of his innocence.
Okay, we REALLY can't mislynch today, so let's dig ourselves out of this hole. First, let's make some sense of a few things. I'd still like to see this post addressed now that night phase is over:
scooter Wrote:You see, tomorrow, we cannot afford a mislynch. I pretty firmly believe we have to nail a wolf.. We have just 2 mislynches left by my count, so a mislynch tomorrow means we'd have to nail a wolf 4/5 days, and with a double-voter out there, I think there's almost no way we could pull that off. We just can't. Considering I know for a fact that I am innocent, it's obvious I need to exert a LOT more effort making it crystal clear that I am innocent. The problem is, I really am not sure where to start on that. I feel like Meiz is the only one who has ever given any clear (yet IMO, misguided) thoughts on why I am guilty, and it seems like everyone else is just kinda going with it for reasons that I don't understand. So I have 2 questions for everyone.
1. Why exactly do you think I am guilty? I would like this to be answered by someone other than Meiz - preferably one of the "village leaders" like Serdoa or Ichabod - the only two people that I really fully trust to be innocent. Zakalwe and Roland are sort of on the fringe of that in my mind, so I'd entertain that too. And Meiz - this is not to dismiss you - but I really think that at this point if Mardoc himself came in here and said I was innocent, you'd still vote for me, so I'm curious what the others think... I've answered everything you've brought up and it gets ignored, so I'm curious what others believe the case against me to be... Because I really don't see what it is.
(side-note: Why do I keep getting labeled as not really contributing while people like Sareln are just floating by? I forgot he was even PLAYING in this game.)
2. What can I do to prove my innocence? I have no idea really, but at this point, I'm willing to do anything. Like I said, I think mislynch tomorrow = victory for wolves, so I'm willing to jump through a lot of hoops to prevent that from happening. One problem is I'm almost afraid to make cases against other people at this point, because I've hit that critical point where if someone mildly suspects me and then I start to push for their guilt, they just see that as "confirming" my guilt, and I get killed anyways. I've watched this phenomena and laughed about it and even made fun of it as a wolf, but it's considerably less funny now that I'm a villager dealing with it.
So have at that and I'll answer anything and everything.

Schtuff:
1. I have this theory that Jkaen is a werewolf who is genuinely MIA. This would give a tiny bit of reason why we've having such trouble finding wolves - maybe we're only talking to 3 of them. However, we should NOT lynch him today. We really need to cross our fingers that he's a WW and gets modkilled, as that should give us an extra day. If he's a villager, we may be screwed... but when you're down big like we are right now, you have to take that risk and pray that Jkaen = WW. It seems logical enough.
2. This:
Serdoa Wrote:But in general the issue I have with you is similar to zak. I read your posts, I see you trying - but it sounds for me like trying to be a villager, not actually being a villager. It is simply like the difference between someone chiming in to say hello and someone chiming in, seeing that you need to clean the dishes and helping you.
In my defense, when you are on the firing line like I've been thrown onto - people tend to take your suspicions and use that to verify that you must be guilty if they don't like your suspicions. That said, I'm going to do the reckless thing and point to someone who is flying under the radar anyways, as he makes me look like the hardest trying person around . I've set aside a little bit of time tonight to do this, so hopefully I can get some semi-coherent thoughts down.
Sareln
Quick quiz: Which active player has the least amount of posts? Ok ok it's Jkaen of course. Who is second? Ichabod actually... This surprised me, but given that he seems to have the highest quality/post, this makes some degree of sense as it fits his style. (P.S. Ichabod please please post more!) Who is third?
It's gotta be me right? I know I've been low on posts, but I've done my best to make them (like this one) lengthy mind-dumps when I can... but surely I'm next worst right? I expected yes. The answer is actually Sareln... Counting this one, I've got 4 more posts than him, which is especially glaring because half of his posts are lynch/mayor tallies. Argue all you want that I'm not trying enough (which I would dispute, but I can at least see where it's coming from), but can you really find someone exerting as little effort as Sareln is in this game? In fact, let's look at the lowest 6 posters in order from least to most, and see if we can figure out the reason why they are all so low.
1. Jkaen - MIA
2. Ichabod - tend to be very lengthy + high quality, so this makes some sense
3. Sareln - no excuse that I've seen, and his total is artificially inflated by lots of lynch/mayor tallies
4. scooter - limited internet access, time, and didn't even mean to signup
5. Injera - new guy
6. Twinkletoes - limited internet access (I believe he said that?)
(note: This is NOT a free pass for everyone on this list including myself, however it at least is a valid explanation)
So... what's Sareln's excuse here? I mean, you take away his lynch tallies and he falls behind Ichabod to the worst poster not named Jkaen... And I can't really remember anything of significance that he's actually posted.
Like I said, I think we need to hope and pray Jkaen is a WW, and considering that I'm currently the village's almost-consensus "most likely werewolf" - obviously we are way off the right track given that I know I'm innocent. I mean, say Jkaen and Sareln are 2 of our werewolves. Wouldn't that explain a lot of our difficulty?? That 1 of them is invisible and the other is getting a not-participating-free-pass would explain a lot - as suddenly finding 2 werewolves in the list of people left doesn't sound so unrealistic. This is getting a bit long, so I'm going to hit the submit reply button... Have a few more thoughts stirring though, so that'll be Coming Soon.
As I touched upon in my night-time post, I also believe the current situation may very well be that the wolves are simply laying low and the active villagers are using the resulting excess of rope to hang themselves.
So I find myself agreeing with Scooter here, especially if I consciously try to remove any bias from suspecting him before, and just look at what he says.
Maybe I'm just being gullible, but his night-time post combined with his current endeavor to redeem himself and turn things around all rings very true to me.
But to answer the question of why I have been thinking you may be guilty, Scooter: The voting record shows you joining a bandwagon on both Uberfish and Erebus at what seems like strategic moments, helping them get going. When you voted for Uberfish on day 1, I have to say I agree with Meiz that you were really just rehashing the arguments that others had already made. Nothing wrong with leaning on others, but you could have said that you just agreed with what the others said. I thought you might be a wolf who wanted to give the bandwagon an extra big shove by restating and emphasizing the reasons for suspecting him. Ironically, I thought you did kind of the opposite on day 2 when voting for Erebus, by implying that you had already listed numerous reasons for suspecting him, when I didn't really feel that was actually the case. At the time, I thought that was because Erebus was guilty and you didn't really want him to hang. Just goes to show that everything can be construed as wolfish, particularly if you put on your wolf glasses.
