Very good critique from several posters! I hope Sullla, kjn, Seven, Krill would comment and give us some opinion.

They are good points with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. If we had built the Taj and gotten to SP and The Kremlin super fast we'd have been talking about how brilliant the play was.

Oh, and Death to CFC.

No. Their diplomacy stragegy vis a vis us for most of the game was "fuck RB up the arse for as long as we get away with it". Early on we got more out of it than they did, because it allowed us expand, but to be honest with the dick moves Somer and 2metra were pulling on us from the day we accepted the invitation, they were gunning for us.

Probably would have been better with an approach of "we won't kill you...right now" from day one.

Well yeah, it was pretty obvious that they were gunning for us from the invitation and setup discussion. But we should have taken that metagame information into account when formulating our plans. We didn't and that was clearly a mistake in hindsight

This is just flat wrong. And I've actually read through CFC's forum and talked to people who played on team since the game ended for us.

Thanks for playing the 'hard' turns MH, I know its a drag so well done!

I wouldn't throw out big reasons on why we lost this game. We played a better game of Civ4 than anyone else in the game and got dogpiled before we could get far enough ahead. Yes you can say this and that wasn't done particularly well but I think crediting the hours of work that was put in by many people to put us in such a strong position is what should be remembered.

While it isn't fun to get dogpiled we should also tip our caps to the other teams for not making the silly mistake of not attacking us while they had the chance. Honestly if they had left us to tech for another 20-30 turns after taking over the German land then that would've been poor on their part.

Why do people still believe that CFC engineered a whole game just to screw RB?
