Any chance of a pic of the area; it's quite hard to keep track esp. with a new city we haven't seen yet?

Thanks, I've not written him. I'm aware rules here on RB are more strict than on the German board, thus wanted to double check what's the consensus, before giving myself a potential unfair advantage. As his score didn't decrease (and mine didn't increase) he didn't accept at least the offers I've made to him. If he counter-offered, I'll see it next turn, fair enough.

I really should have checked his peace offer more carefully, but I've had some wine and beer last night, and just wanted to get my turn in (so he wouldn't have to wait till very late of the timer)

Currently, the turns are ending at 7pm local time here, which is kinda the worst timing for me here to play as first-mover in a war.. :D

Will try to do next turn, apologies. See reasons above why I didn't thought of that this turn  toast

Just a quick situation view..

So much about having naval supremacy.. he landed another axe and chariot.

He has now 3 axes and 2 chariots vs. 2 axes and 2 impis on my side at Bishan.

In Yishun, he somehow get an Axe and a Spearman, vs. 2 Axes+Impi from myself.

Offered him peace for the return of Yishun, with a strong hint that he's free to go after Xist..

All in the balance now..

If he can reinforce Yishun, it will hold. If not, I probably will be able to take it under heavy loses (not sure if worth) next turn.

If he attacks in Bishan, all bets are off.. my units have better promotions, but not by much. 20% defense bonus might be deciding.. or might not..

Scooter didn't take Bishan - so he didn't went all in, it seems..

But he also didn't accept my peace offer.. seems this war will drag on forever, but I'm not willing to let him have it wink

Meanwhile, Xist's Praetorians are outright SLAUGHTERED by Gavagei.

With Gava and Picca, I'm having two nations nearby that will absolutely dominate this part of the world.. so no matter the outcome vs. Scooter, we're both kinda doomed by now..

Interesting enough, not with axes but a warrior and two scouts. Warrior and one scout is death, the other one likes to occupy one of my mines. He got a good timing (sarcasm) as it's exactly the round I didn't want to run the mine to grow a round quicker in my capital :D

Good XP gain for my two warriors.

As a friendly player, I offered him peace.. goes he should better have used his early copper to rush the Indian player rather than me.. AGG Zulu-Mongolian player.. I'll have my UU next round, and axes ready at the go..

This was an attempt to plunder the mine - ~ 25% to plunder and execute a succesfull rush. - If I moved a bit more focussed, the second warrior would be there to and I had 50%. - If you had built only 1 worker I would be succesfull.

And Yishan is the reason I tried to rush you.
I didn't want a CRE neighbour, who has strange ideas about "fair" borders. - PB92 and here is Yishan similar.
Add AGG and impis ? This is someone I want to take out before they can take me out.
And after that, I expected to be relativ save with PRO + legions and to have a better economic thanks to FIN.

Ah, welcome new lurker..

:D

I've accepted a White peace with Scooter..

Yishun is lost, at least for the time being..

Will try to build up an economy..

With two strong players on this continent, I'll be toast sometime in the future anyway, so a never ending war won't help..

I'm pleased to say that scooters army has been (almost) completely wiped out, with moderate loses on my side. Now onward to liberate my Kampungs from the Japanese invader!

Revenge, cold served!

I'm assuming was a catapults are really good on defense against slow moving army situation?

It's unfortunately a new turn, so I can't login right now.

But basically, he declared war on me for the third time (I only declared war on him once.. and I should have burned his city down at that time, when I had the chance, rather than trying to be nice..) - he has war elephants, horse archers, but had only about half a dozen catapults. While I had more than a dozen.

I had prepared for this moment - THIS time he wouldn't get another city of mine.

I moved in with a neat stack, into a hill forest - he could have had first strike against me, but refused. I then moved towards Bishan (which he stole from me in the last war), onto just a hill - he still had first strike. But refused again. He just had built city walls in Bishan, so I had to decide to either tear them down (1R, as I had enough catapults) and fortify for a round - or attack against his +50% defenses.

I choose to tear the walls down and force him into either attacking me, or retreating. He did.. NEITHER!

He simply left his fairly offensive stack in a city on 0% defense. Next turn came, and well, my catapults fired upon his units at will. Some units survived, but heavily injured, I'll have to see what he'll do with them. I lost some units, too, but mostly cheap axes.

Oh, and he defended another city of himself (next to Gavagai) with just an axe. BAD mistake, as a lone suicide chariot that used Gavagai's roads killed his axeman and burned it to the ground. Not very Gentlemen, but at least in this game, we're arch enemies by now, so all gloves are off.

Interesting enough, scooter apparently wanted me to take on Gavagai (probably together) instead of fighting him. But considering the history in this game between us, that was a no-go. Gavagai tried to threaten me during my last war vs. Scooter into giving up Lucky Plaza, but then Scooter offered me peace for Bishan, which I gave him temporary (I'll get it back, this war!) so I knew I had to peace that war, as otherwise Gavagai was taking Lucky Plaza by force. With peace re-established, and my Impis available to defend against his horse raider army, he backed off..

So, while taking revenge on Gavagai for "kinda" forcing me to give Scooter Bishan, I still dislike Scooter more than Gavagai (in THIS game.. I never hold a grudge against a player outside of a specific PB) so while I thought about his "offer" get take Gavagai down together, I prefered to get my cities back (and possibly more by now)

I know I will probably get attacked and conquered once Gavagai or Picca are looking for the next target, but destroying Scooters army at least gave me somewhat of a happy face :D

To be fair, your city next to him is one of the most aggressive plants I've seen on this fora.
