I think the only civ that won't compete with us for Rexing is the Dwarves ... I mean even Cardith Lorda wants settlements (and Varn is creative)

Mardoc Wrote:Some ideas: This is the kinda thing i'm looking for. I'll add this to the 'possibly' pile. Mardoc Wrote:[*]Ancestors of the horse Main problem with this one is they're all called Hippus! Mardoc Wrote:[*]Horse Breeds Hah I was looking at the exact same thing earlier. I ruled it out because I wanted something unrelated and random. Mardoc Wrote:[*]Subatomic particles Now this I like! Tasunke Wrote:Hmm ... Can you elaborate on the evil theme? Some names etc? I'm funny with names. If you've got a list to peruse through, i'll certainly have a good look! Tasunke Wrote:Is Arendel Expansive? (as you can tell, I don't play Ljos much ) No, she's spiritual and creative. No other civ is financial by default although I expect Varn to be on his first swap. Don't judge a civ's potential expansion rate purely by their leaders traits. Once he has them, warrens will allow the orcs to keep up/overtake. However, far more important that that is player skill. I like making empires, if I can manage to get some mileage out of my BtS micro/knowledge, then we should comfortably out-expand everyone. I hope the map is nice and big.
City Names:
Tartarus, The Pit, Tower of Wails, Purgatorio, Bloodwall, the Seventh Circle, the Fifth Ring, Nyx, Heart of Agares, Ceridwen's Vault, The Chaotic Demension, Aeron's Throne, The Wastes of Sloth, Rending Screams, Armageddon Now (comical), The Sundered Zone, Twisted Veil, The Partition, Tortured Souls, The Prison, Shadow Vault, Buyers Remorse (comical), When Harry met Demon (comical), Unholy Pact, the Enervated Dream ... I could go on. We could also separate "the Pit" into the Pit of Pain, the Pit of Screams, and the Pit of Lost Souls. Although leaving the Pit on its own has a more solid quality (and its what Sam n Dean use to refer to hell in general in Supernatural ... at least in the seasons that matter) As far as Unit Names ... Aeron (himself), Camulos (himself), Bride of Ceridwen (its a lesbian thing), Mulcarn's Dissasiciative Personality (comical), Bipolar Agares, Heaven's Fallen Soldier (could be a mass naming of many units), Armageddonite (also a mass naming of many units), Wrath of Khan (comical, single unit useage, but if it dies another can be renamed), the Eye of Sauron (comical), Sam and Dean (comical)-> Potential to rename the three stooges as Sam, Dean, and Castiel, Demon Soldier (mass naming), the Possessed (mass naming), Nephilim (mass naming, preferably a mounted unit-type for some reason), Ophidian Scale (off-topic/comical), Eye of Newt (comical hocus pocus reference), Wing of Bat (ditto) ... I could go on but I'm running out of time :D Hmm, also Chucky's Bride and Bride of Frankenstein I suppose, to play off of a "Bride of Ceridwen" theme starter. Kyan Wrote:Don't judge a civ's potential expansion rate purely by their leaders traits. Once he has them, warrens will allow the orcs to keep up/overtake.. Yes, warrens + Expansive can mean a lot of things. I used to use him in Amateur civ games to get 10 cities to my opponents 2. To elaborate, I really like using Jonas to land grab and then use that land grap to gain a spiritual lead and play catch up on economics. --> Basically I like to spam Ritualists and Diseased Corpses, as with Warrens you can build an army (at least in Amateur games) that no one else can hold a candle to Meanwhile, we as the Hippus would prefer Horsemen and Assassins. A couple god horses with all combats and Drills, many fodder horses with high withdrawal, and assassins to minimize survivors. aka Hippus are almost as good at pumping fodder, and are really good at getting Super Units (God Horses and God Assassins) Hippus strategy is probably weakest against PZ spam ... and Bannor take assassins right out of the fight. Luckily neither of these 2 civs are in
But I think you are right that even a creative elf (at least if new to the game) wouldn't want to aggressively city plant.
Instead, an elf, or a new elf at least, would really REALLY like to turtle, and likely wont join in any wars till the end of the game. Kyan Wrote:Really good looking, charming, delightful to talk to and all around nice guy. That's enough about Ichabod though, I figure i'm probably the best player here on micro ability but possibly the worst on game knowledge. We'll see where that takes us. I'm surprised Tholal picked Arthurus, too. When I saw Khazad, I didn't even read the leader name, I was thinking he picked Kandros. About Yell0w, he's playing in this game: http://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/forum....php?f=124 I'm dedlurking haphazard1, so I can't see his thread. But it's a green game. About Ellimist. It's possible we will see an Armaggedon attempt. Worth keeping an eye on. My suggestion of city names is cossack hosts: http://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/forum....php?f=124 Imagine a capital named Zaporozhia. And we could name the units after classic characters of Russian literature: Taras Bulba, Pierre Bezukhov, Konstantin Levin and so on. |
