As per tradition and custom, I have changed my mind. I will be settling the city near the Cows and the Pigs as shown in this old screenshot:
The city requires a much lower down payment, not requiring a military guard, a missionary, nor a Work Boat. With this, I can avoid Hunting, start whipping Workers, and start stocking up on wooden clubs for the ceremonial Warriors. Furthermore, this starts moving towards the Stone for the Hanging Gardens or the Mids. The Pointy Cube is only ~149 base hammers with Stone and Organized Religion, and a city on Stone has 6 forests in its fat cross...
Foreign relations are going off to a rocky start. Bob rejected my Open Borders, and Jowy DOW and killed off my scouting Warrior. Jowy and Sian are now at peace, since Sian got his Copper connected.
I found the center full of gems and bananas, as is common on these maps:
Yes, those are the nearest/only sources of Ivory, Gems, and Bananas. My Warriors going to keep wandering. Mardoc's somewhere on the other side of this jungle, and I want his known tech bonuses!
The plan rolls on unopposed. I'll whip a Worker instead of units in Qiming. Currency takes 8 turns breakeven. I'm deciding if I want to throw everything at the Pyramids...
I'm feeling more confident about settling the northern cities. Scouting reveals that Bob's city is an outpost for him, too:
...that was a short peace.
Second time's the charm?
Jowy settled his fourth city. My sixth city will be settled next turn.
Note to self: move my first Axe to the Barbarian city to try to unlock the Heroic Epic. No one's researching Archery, so I'm guessing the barb city is filled with Warriors.

Mardoc sure is pushing that Crop Yield. (It's not Sian nor Bob, and I doubt it's Jowy)
Meiyuan (Peach Garden) was settled, Pigs will be improved next turn. I got a random Buddhism spread - I'll be annoyed if this prevents my Hindu Missionary from working. On the other hand, another set of temples is never bad.
Whipped Settler in capital and Worker in cottage incubator city. One-pop whipped Granary in fishing village. Building a couple of cheap Warriors using whip overflow.
A plan is hard to come by in these days. My current plan is running out, and I'm not sure whether to settle towards Bob or to throw my hat into the Pyramid race. I'm leaning towards pushing towards Bob and keeping the expansion running - breakeven is only at 60% science.
Bob doesn't have Copper, so after this military police Warrior completes in Kuanghai, I'm picking up Hunting. Then... Metal Casting? The new southern cities will have a lot of forests with not much to chop them into.
Meiyuan... I think I'll pull one of the Workers away from this city. I won't need Worker labor until I hit Size 3.
Yuedao... time to whip out a Settler once I hit Size 4.
Graphs came in on Bob and Jowy:
It looks like Jowy's doing pretty well for himself with his Size 7 capital.
Although the details still need ironing out, The Pyramids will be completed end of T68. I have enough Worker labor to waste, it's just a matter of optimizing now.
Seventh city will be settled next turn, Pyramids city T63, and northern city sometime near that. Annoyingly, I'm one Worker turn short of settling the northern city a turn sooner.
This is probably not a good Pyramids completion date. I find it interesting how in my paranoid state, I'm beginning to believe that Mardoc's flurry of posts are outlining his plan for the Pyramids.
I will pick up Hunting next turn. Kuanghai's Warrior finished. Bob has Horses connected, not Copper.
EOT I got lucky with a free Hindu spread in Xiubao.
Yuedao gave up its copper mine, because while making 6 HPT it couldn't two-pop whip Missionaries.
Meiyuan is getting the short end with the Pyramid Scheme. It'll probably two-pop whip a Worker sometime soon; with its obscene amount of food, Size 4 will come in no time.
I am preparing to settle the northern city. It will be settled T63, the same time as my Mids city:
Whipped the Mids Settler:
Weep at the riverside hamlets that I'm not working:
Meiyuan and Yanggang are going to be my Great People cities, simply due to their obscene amounts of food:
After Currency is Priesthood to unlock the Spiritual Temple and get a Shrine running. After that, assuming I get the Pyramids, I think I'll go for Metal Casting. I'd rather have Forges to help build Courthouses.
