[SPOILERS] Team BASTARD settles on deer.

Dang it, that's a really nice food heavy city too.

Yeah, that's the main reason I think he's settling there, not just resting his warrior - it's a good spot. Although...in his shoes I'd make it a third or fourth city, not his second. That's quite a distance from his cap, not a single tile of overlap.

That said, looking at distance to our capitals - that site was never ours anyway. I thought it might be before we found Arabia, but realistically, with where he started, the only way we were ever going to have those pigs was a successful war.

I do hope that we can manage to claim the corn/cows/clams city also pictured, though. Looking at it from his perspective, that area isn't very nice if it doesn't claim the corn and if you're not Financial, so we've a chance. Need to push hard on the expansion, of course.

Yeah. Well, at least now we know for sure we wanna push NorthEasterly with our settling at first.

Azza's warrior stayed put. I would give it a 95% chance that there'll be a city there as soon as he gets a settler out. Although there's no sign so far of said settler, so we're not too far behind apparently.

Also, Silverice Peninsula is definitely habitable. I kinda hope for Fish in a location that makes 2S of the warrior a viable city site wink.

Not really sure yet how to modify or add onto the dotmap, but food + Fin coast = worth a settler. And yet this site is definitely not yet urgent, not unless the warrior finds more than a 4f tile. So, wait and see what else there is.

From current knowledge, 1W of the deer is probably the best option, especially since RBMod moved whales up to Sailing IIRC. Maybe we find something to suggest otherwise.

Brick, just double checking - you can play starting tomorrow still? Given the pause lynch mob that seems to be forming, I want to be sure smile I'll be around, just distracted.

General mid-term plans:
- Scout keeps scouting. I've been trying to have him land on defensive terrain every turn, although we haven't needed it yet. At this point I think we've got all the info we're going to need for dotmapping, so what's left is finding out as much as we can about Azza's realm and then onward to see if this is a duel league or if this is a real continent. Been trying to get eyes on his capital, or at least his entire borders, before heading off eastward again.
- Warrior needs to scout to the end of Silverice peninsula, but I'm not sure what he should do afterward. Maybe come home and be a MP/barb insurance, maybe head east and explore the south.
- Settler finishes and then heads northeast to the best site up that way. Which I think is the corn/clams site. We should revolt to Slavery while the settler is walking, I think.
- After that, I'm not sure what order we should be settling in. Maybe our third site should be a tad pink, the corn/clams/cows site, to establish a border with Azza to backfill behind? Or maybe we should stick with stuff closer to home for simply easiest cities to found and defend? We do have a bunch of strong sites available, so the priority for now definitely should be REX. Even after establishing our border, we've a lot of good fishing villages to found.
- Further production at home: we'll need at least one more worker, probably 2, and we'll start to need basic military and workboats and workboats for scouting. And Granary as soon as Pottery is in. Probably we have too many things, not enough hammers - but do remember in three turns we can start chopping forests for hammers. We really should deforest a lot, that'll help us snowball and with a moderately close neighbor, we need that snowball.
- Techwise, we need Wheel - Pottery next, and after that probably Animal Husbandry for our luxuries and deer and horses. I think the next highest priority is probably Sailing, but I haven't really analyzed this far yet.

Anything I'm missing?

Wait, you're handing it off to Brick as you complete a settler and have just uncovered *more* deer?

Can Brick resist that?

Yeah, I'll be around.

I'll need to log in to get a look at how pink the pink spot will be.

I hope you'll log in for more reasons than just that wink.

The spot is basically on the halfway mark between Azza and us, meaning the BFC claims tiles 2 over the halfway mark. Out of a total separation of 13ish tiles from border to border, that'd basically be claiming two-thirds of the contested land (along the coast). Basically we'd have 2 cities between capital and border, while he'd only have one.

OTOH, he didn't find us, so he's got no reason to know that it's pink. And he might be able to expand away from us, while we've just got ocean away from him. And the corn, which is what makes that site awesome, is clearly on our side of the line.

I'm not advocating the pink dot as our next city, but possibly as our third. Obviously we need to have strategics and slavery at minimum to try to claim it, though, which might mean waiting for a fourth city.

I want to go for it, but I acknowledge that might lead to us fighting a war to keep it. Still, rather have the nice site and fight a defensive war than not have it. Especially when we've probably got to fight Azza eventually anyway if we want a shot at the game.

So I probably *should* be cleaning and picking up while I wait for my guests to arrive...but the turn rolled in like 12 hours! And I want to see what the scouts find, anyway.

I'm not addicted. Really. I could quit, I just choose not to.

I really will let you play the rest of the turns for the weekend. I think. mischief

So what did the scouts find? Well, it'll be quite possible for Azza to expand away from us, for one thing. The presence of FinHarry was a pretty big hint that the continent didn't end at Azza, but now we've got the evidence of our own eyes on top. And look, green, with pigs!

I won't feel guilty grabbing more than our fair share toward Azza, since he should be expanding in all directions while we've basically only got the one direction. innocent. I'm not greedy, any more than I'm addicted.

We also found the world's edge!

I still don't see a better spot for a city down here than where the warrior's standing, unless we reshuffle a lot of our dotmap. Only Deer as food isn't that impressive, but claiming whale happy earlyish seems worth it to me.

Also, um, world's edge - definitely second priority for settlers. Still cities worth founding down here, but no one else can get here first assuming we don't dawdle.
