Yes.

I rather liked the player count, allowed us to get the game concluded quickly and it didn't become a massive time drain where you just can't sift through all the information. I didn't like the lurking, though. Nothing personal Mattimeo and Azza (especially if something came up), I like you both, but I feel it's a huge game changer that should be avoided. Both for sake of fairness and for sake of fun.
My argumentative skills were awful this game, but I think my scum hunting is improving a little. I need to be more careful with how I word posts, but I'm really worried everybody will think me scum if I started doing that ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif)
Except I wasn't lurking.
That's true, my bad. Recalled a comment from you about not contributing as much as you'd like, but you did indeed contribute.

I was impressed by catwalk's ability to filter out bullshit
In hindsight killing Azarius might have been a mistake, but hard to say for sure. I was pretty sure he'd have been ultimately seen as towny and Azza's scan would have then made him 100% innocent.
We were very fortunate that Azza didn't make a full claim. I think that would have definitely been the right play for him.
Thanks to all for the game, it was fun despite being stressed and in desperation mode for whole day 2 and 3...

Any thoughts on how to create a more balanced 9-player setup? These games are never going to last more than 3 days in practice, or maybe there's a rare outlier that will go to a nontrivial day 4. So I think it will be swingy no matter how we do it. But I quite liked the nightless variant, so maybe something like that, with limited night kills, and thus a slightly longer game?
The problem is that if you make it an open setup, any town power roles become overpowered just by clearing the owner.
@Meiz. Azarius might have made it harder for me to avoid the noose? Though he also suspected you and Novice, so I can understand why you killed him. The "no lynch" trick that you were planning was also pretty cute, and that would have been harder to pull off with 6 players.

Also +1 to this. Quite an exemplary game in that sense.
(Could have been another story if Rowain had still been alive when Meiz brought up his meta tell, though? ![mischief mischief](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/mischief.gif) )

One option would be open setup, but not revealing the role on death. That gives scum the option to fake claim in hopes that the village power role is dead, while also giving some doubt for any claims that are made after day 1.

45 mins before lynch both scum were up for the gallows. Perhaps the next time we should chose a DL where zak is assuredly asleep since 3 hours

There are people who won't get lynched at D1 (zak,novice...) and some that will always be an option (catwalk, Qgqqqq...) If the wolves consist of no-lynches then they have a huge headstart if the wolves consist of lynchables they lose.
If the wolves consist of the talkative players and the village of lurkers then the wolves dictate the talk and can more easily spin whom to lynch.

And perhaps we shouldn't deliberately scum it up at LyLo and leave the one active town player in an echo chamber with two scum.

After all he has experience from politics.
If we get the same-ish signups next time we could try a game with an aussie deadline.
I have to run.

I'm glad I was able to stress you out ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) I felt like I was flailing all game, I think I need to be a little more confident next time. I felt I was on to something, but few agreed with my theories. I wasn't even sure myself at the end, you lucked into a good argument about zakalwe and Mattimeo also "teaming up" to a large extent. Not as much as you and novice, but it was enough to give me pause rather than finish with guns blazing at the two of you.
