That was the case in pre-release videos. If the barb Scout sees your city and gets back to the camp, that camp sends a lot more units towards that city

That's also a mechanic the developers described a few times, so I'd assume it's a thing that is meant to happen, yeah. You'll notice barbarian scouts don't seem to attack or pillage, or even capture civilians (unless they just happen to path into them). Their script is entirely "look for city and then head back to camp" with maybe some self-preservation allowances made.

Screenshot works same as in Civ5. You press PrintScreen (without any extra keys), screenshot is saved in %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Screenshots. In .tga format, so you then need software (e.g. Paint.Net) to convert them to a sane format. Or use Steam screenshots

By the way, if anyone can explain Firaxis's unhealthy obsession with .tga format, I'm all ears

.tga is common in the world of games. Both .tga and .png are lossless, but .tga manages alpha transparency better and takes less processing time to save, so it's commonly used in game asset engines with a lot of processing steps. And if your asset pipeline works in .tga, you might as well hook your screenshot function up to the same thing.

Yes and No. The map editor is currently not available, so I did not have fine control over building the map. However, I was able to use a set map seed to ensure all games do take place on the same map. Depending on your starting civ though, opponents might be in different places. It's as close as I could get without Worldbuilder released yet.

Another side note here: Due to how map generation works and not having Worldbuilder access yet, some of the given out civs will start in the same place, e.g. people playing Japan and China will start in the same place, along with some others. I tried ways to prevent this but couldn't find any solutions while staying on the same map.

Hopefully not a problem for most, Brick. The tools available right now at launch are what they are. Your efforts are appreciated!

Now if I only had half a clue as to what I am doing with all these new mechanics and systems.... lol Spectacular flameout is likely! But that is part of the fun.

Not a problem, though I noticed I received an achievement for winning on a "Fractal" map rather than Pangea crazyeye

Just finished my game, still writing the report and such.

Hello. Not sure whether i should finish than write a full report or make several partial reports or even if this is the right place to post.
Decided to follow the CivFanatics Game of the Month system and post a "first moves" report about 100 turns in.

I've watched a few pre-release streams and followed some speculation discussions over at CivFanatics but didn't really try to figure how the game works by reading manuals or civilopedia before starting this game when i saw it was Prince.
Settled on first turn, don't really remember if i moved one tile. Trained 2 scouts to start exploring and followed with a Settler since expansion is easier and more important than in CiV(5).
Settled my second city to the east, fully planning to get a quad of farms for them with the 2 rice, and put some districts in the desert.
I wanted a Religion so first district i built at Kyoto was the Holy Site.
I kept exploring and built some settlers and basic infrastructure (especially Monuments) and once i had Early Empire (with a quick Inspiration thanks to my 2 cities), i started producing more settlers. I had noticed i was rather isolated in a small peninsula with a single access to the north and decided this was where i wanted my military focused city with encampment and heavy production. I had met Cleo and Trajan but scouts really had a hard time moving in all the wilderness areas full of barbarians. I had several Settlers moving towards their destinations when Trajan mocked me for not expanding shakehead
Speaking of Barbarians, they quickly became a non issue in my lands. 3 Slingers upgraded into archers kept them at bay and were enough to squash any new camp.

On the research from i mostly went without much plan after i got the tech for Holy Sites. Whatever tech i had an Eureka for, or something that seemed useful at the moment.
I was more focused on Civics. Getting out of chiefdom was top priority and a reason for building multiple monuments. After i could get a real government, i grabbed Mysticism for the Great Prohpet card as my early Holy Site definitely wasn't enough to get a Prophet. With the card i could get the 3rd one, first being of course the Stonehenge free Prophet.

And this is roughly where i am. My original plan was to spread Buddhism and try to win a Religious victory but my exploration really suffered from barbs and apart from Egypt (who BTW is still at 1 city duh ) and one Roman city i don't even know where i should send my missionaries, or how to move them in all the barbarian infested wilderness.

Screenshot in Strategic view (i think it works better for large scale and looks nice this time)
