I did see Fan, but (just as I was going to bed) I thought it was pretty weak due to it being linked much more to air than to oxygen in particular. I'm not so certain any more.

Tactically, we don't want to leave two options outstanding for next time (if we get another go), so we should make a guess one way or the other. Of course if we hit a red word, it's pretty much game over.

I'm happy with either guess, I think (though still a bit happier with Compound). Any final thoughts from anyone?

Point to Fan

I’m only marginally higher on it then compound...thematically compound works better, but if you were trying to clue Air, Scuba, and Fan then Oxygen seems perfect. Given Lewwyn, DP, and I all have it highest I’ll guess it with apologies to rho.

No need for apologies, it seems.

OK, we have a three clue, implying that we should not select SOUL as the fourth Mythology word.

Clifford is a series of children's books about a large red dog, so BARK and NOVEL are probably two of our words, and NOVEL might be the fourth Mythology.

Let's look at the rest.

CENTER - No connection that I see

MOLE - No connection that I see

TEACHER - The books might be used by a teacher to show children how to read

THEATER - I don't think that Clifford has been made into either a movie or a play.

MOUNT - Clifford is large enough to ride, and MOUNT could be the fourth Mythology word

PLATE - A dog would eat from a plate, but that's thin.

LITTER - Strong connection, as dogs are born in litters, and a large dog might be "the pick of the litter."

KNIFE - No connection that I see.

COMPOUND - No connection that I see.

So my first instinct would be LITTER, but MOUNT is also a strong possibility. It depends on whether we think that NOVEL fits in with Mythology and Mount doesn't.

I see what you mean pjabrony, but I like LITTER over MOUNT.

I'm assuming it's Clifford the big red fog.
Bark, certainly.
Mount, because his owner rides on him.
He's in kid's books, but I wouldn't call them novels.
A Teacher might read the books to young students.
He was the runt of the Litter.
Is there a play about him in the Theater?

Responding to pjabrony:

I suggested Mount Olympus for mythology.
I'm not a fan of Novel; the Clifford books are definitely not novels.

A big red fog is what Red Team is in right now. We agree that it's BARK, but then it's two of MOUNT, NOVEL, and LITTER. But we all have differing views of which two.

Without looking at the spoilers, Bark and Novel seem clear. Not sure what the last word is, "Litter", because dogs have them?

I guess Novel was the last Mythology word.
