TheArchduke in a critical Role as Scotland

Yeah, something like that.

Anyway it seems we will have fireworks on that other continent, and I imagine a peaceful continent over here. Well, except for some CS killing.

On topic.

Turn 41

One galley will be chopped out (overflow possibly into a +2 campus) and join the 2 warriors near Emon, the newly built one and meet up with the 1 warrior and 1 slinger coming from Rexxentrum.

Rexxentrum will build 2 slingers after the builder and will send those troops (by then upgraded to archers to Zanzibar. I should be able to get Zanzibar without walls still.

Both cities will then push out settlers claiming the area between Babylon and Zanzibar and one of the sites near Rexxentrum respectively. Then after Currency, BW to look for Iron and get swordsman to defend or kill Kandy. If all works out, dig in and tech to dominance on my continent.

I will use the money for a quick trader and monument (monument first next turn). Commercial hubs will have to wait until I can get Rexxentrum and Emon to Size 4.

Babylon will focus on commercial 1 SE and an encampment 1 SE and 1 SW.

The filler city will build an encampment 2 W, and a campus 1 SE or 2 SE. its location is secured by the lake. I want to close off against Australia and tech away, baiting him into a dow. Against Korea, the terrain is way more open, I will need troops not encampments there.

Plan for now at least. I should manage to get at least another classical GS, let´s hope it is Hypatia.

Turn 44

You did not expect no action to happen in here, no? popcorn

Well, we will see if Rowain is smart enough to contest Babylon or block tiles. I must assume he is.

The stone tile is important, it could block my whole advance. I doubt Rowain will dow Babylon himself to block after a Dow, but we will see. I need to put Babylon under siege to win.

I chop out the galley without overflow, I want to be able to strike now.

The campus is laid down and I will know fill up AH, Archery and BW to enable myself to fight with archers. What did the district discount ever do for a player anyway, right? duh

Archer upgrade will take care of barbs up here.

Turn 46

Two more envoys, especially Lisbon is appreciated, taking me up to +18 Icon_Gold

The motto "get on with it".

Rowain did not block the tile SW of Babylon which is a HUGE mistake. He could have prevented a siege or delayed me by quite the bit. Now he is doomed to look upon whilst Scotland annexes another city into its empire.

First of all Bablyon has started a campus. I think long about it but decide against any further delay. I could wait for 7-8 turns until this campus finishes and it has no adjancency whatsoever. I am much better of to finish this quickly and harvest out 1-2 ships and maybe a commercial district.

Next up, do we try to capture the builder? He probably has only 1-charge, but still.

I decide against attacking the warrior, I can always do so next turn, so I dow and move in.

I should be fairly safe to take the city next turn, except for a ballsy dow by Australia and some rotten luck, but I doubt it is possible.

Most likely we will regroup, recover, upgrade one slinger, chop out a campus next turn and move onto getting an archer out of Emon, and getting a builder out of Babylon to harvest both stones ASAP.

We will see.

I haven't been commenting, though I have been reading, mostly becuaee you seem to have a plan and are executing it. What does your tech tree look like though? Just curious what districts you have unlocked and if you could get a discount bonus still or not.

Will provide an overview as soon as the turn comes in.

Could be awhile judging from Rowain not doing the turn.

106 hours delay by now. Yay.

Screenies, more text later.

Even though the worker sits in the city, I can not catch him. Babylon is captured and I snatch some experience from its warriors.

Next turn Science and Culture should go up a bit as loyalty creeps up.

I think Rowain quit this game pre-emptively, especially as I do not at all agree with his analysis on the CS. I learned my lesson the hard way in PBEM 2 that you need to scout into the center.

Plan for the future.

Settler in capital, campus and trader in Emon and monument and builder in Nicodranas (maybe even buy the builder to harvest stones into galleys. Thanks to the 5 day delay this may be not possible as the patch will fix overflow.

I don't think you unlocked currency yet right? If not you could build encampments as a second district at a discount and CH as a third though fewer of them at a discount. Maybe it is too early to build encampment so strategic concerns will trump economic ones. If you will build encampments where are you thinking?

Managed to squeeze the turn in barely this morning. Promise to do a more comprehensive analysis of the situation now.

Damn you steam on office CPU and Windows 10.

Anyway, fun with barbs atm and my scout continues to move west to uncover Australia´s core.

Switching to Agoge for 1-2 more archers for barbusting and choppage in the capital.
