Misty Shades of Grey [SPOILERS]

(May 4th, 2019, 23:52)Aurorarcher Wrote: I think if I were after mack in turn order my units could be held (in theory) permanently. But as I am before him the turn order, the first turn of immobility goes away at the end of turn before I even see the turn.

I believe that was the way it worked in original FfH2 - but I also think EitB changed it so that spells never wear off at the end of "the" turn, but at the beginning or end (depending on the spell) of the player's turn. If you cast a Fireball or a Floating Eye, it disappears at the end of your turn, and no other player can see it on their turn, regardless of turn order. But if you cast a Pit Beast or a Spectre, it doesn't disappear (or count down, in the case of creatures with durations) until the start of your (next) turn, so other players have to fight to get past it, regardless of turn order. I believe status effects work the same way, except I think they last until (or count down on) the beginning of the turn of the player who owns the affected unit. (i.e. once a status effect is in place, it doesn't care who cast it.) So blinding light's "2 turn" duration is misleading; it always lasts just 1 of the victim's turns, after which the target always has a chance to move before it can be blinded again (even by another player). ... Assuming I actually remember the way this got set up correctly.

Well, mack tricked me again (how foolish of me to fall to the same trap twice). He trapped 4 of my beastmasters + 3 rangers + one ghost. I managed to kill two of his shadowriders + one ratha (only 2 left, so that's good) by sacrificing only one warrior. However, that's not going to help much as next turn he can he hit my stack with over 20 units (including 2 shadowriders, 1 HA, bunch of PoLs, tigers, 2 rathas etc.) + 5 cats. I don't like my odds on that. Some of my units are injuried but I have two full hp beastmasters on hill with +60% strength. Should make him lose at least some units...

Perhaps small consolation, but this has looked like a _proper_ FFH game to me. Huge swings as you and Mack have hit different power points, overpowered magic doing horrible damage when players have made small errors ...

Great fun lol .

My fooling around with my beastmasters became costly. Mack lost almost nothing killing the stack and the next turn he took my cap. Those shadowriders are nasty as they give collateral damage but mack made this all look so easy by killing my Baron at 7% odds...

GG mack, I concede (should've probably a while ago as I believe at least Bob and Dave are done as well).

Here's the logs.

Well deserved victory, mack. You made Elohim look so good, especially that March promotion is quite handy...
