Turn 115 - 1AD!
So the bad news this turn is that TEAM have overtaken us on score - I think we need to get more cities down ASAP. Meanwhile this city is a bit of a pain if we want to boat it...
Looks like it's only got a granary in anyway (have I missed anything?)
Occam before and after the Academy (ignore the 90% science, we'll be working 100%) Civil Service in two turns!
More missionaries here for new cities once the temple is done? Also a priest...
Fitting in a scout so Smooth can grow before starting a worker. I'd like to use him to find out the lie of the land with respect to one of our neighbours, any suggestions which?
3-pop whipped the forge this turn, we probably want to grow now for as big a commerce city as possible - either a galley, market or courthouse next?
Still crap, but the worker will improve that a bit.
Gladius finishes the Colossus! Now we need more coastal cities...
Halberd looks healthy now.
Grow!
Rubbish.
Whip the library next turn.

The micro plan is up to date for the next couple of turns (barring mistakes) but I'll probably have wi-fi this weekend, and on recent turn pace I don't know if the turn will even get back to us by Sunday - so I'll let you know if I can't grab it C-H. Cheers.

Score doesn't mean much--it could just mean they have more tech (while we're going deeper in the tree)--and looking at the save, we popped above them with the Colossus Speaking of TEAM, any word back from them on stuff? And more on the diplo front, when do we poke M3?
Occam is awesome! 120 beakers a turn before Bureaucracy is crazy--of course it's not sustainable yet, but still
I guess missionaries would be fine for BoG, unless you think it needs a barracks--part of this depends on if we're going to war against Trolls or not (which brings us back to TEAM ) BoG should be able to afford a priest as well for the shrine--though if we're going that direction we should build the market there :/
I don't know, depends on who we're going to war with--and I guess if we never negotiated a no-scout clause with Trolls we might as well scout them
Market seems better for Dirk in the long term, unless we need the galleys--we really need to arrange a chat with Lewwyn sometime to hash this out :/
Is there an ETA on when we're getting a worker out to In the Stone?
That's good about the turn--I'm a bit busier this weekend than I thought I was, but I probably could still get to the turn if need be
Speaking of, what the heck happened to the turn pace of this game? I was hoping we could bring more people back to the fold before our war effort (*cough*scooter*cough*), but having one turn cycle every few days isn't going to encourage people to come back to the demo game :/

Turn 116
I've emailed Lewwyn to prod him about the message. I hope to get the time to figure out what forces we could have for a t126 M3 attack tommorrow, but I've been saying that for a while now haven't I? Once we put some war plans together I think someone like Scooter might look them over for the glaring mistakes we've made, whatever the turn pace...
Meanwhile I think just north of here is one of Troll's early cities. It's a bit far away for us to boat effectively - So we could burn their Maui city and a filler city in a war. I don't think that sounds good at all - knights or cats for an inland attack are far preferable...
You're right, Occam is a monster, with more to come yet - cottages on the grass and hill should be ready in time for pop growths. We're getting fur online soon so will have a happy cap of 19. Aqueduct next to combat the unhealthiness we're about to see?
Just look at that water - we're going to get a pop growth here every other turn for a while, I'm tempted not to whip here again. Started a courthouse, but we can switch to building two or three Galleys over the next 10 turns if needed.
Started a barracks in Foil - not sure there is anything else useful to produce while we grow onto the cottages? I want to put a turn into walls at some point near the end of our M3 NAP, just in case.
The worker actually just finished improving In The Stone this turn, note mine and farm, and will hop on a galley next turn and finish the mine flagged on the mainland. With the trading post whipped in a couple of turns we'll be +12 food when not working the mine.
Next turn we revolt to Bureaucracy - we could revolt to Caste at the same time, but I'm getting a lot of value out of Slavery still, and without Representation specialists aren't all that great. Any other good reasons for going Caste?

So does that mean we shouldn't go to machinery, instead going to either construction or guilds? We have a couple of turns to think about it at least
Slow-build aqueduct seems like a fine plan for Occam--when we finish growing onto the last two cottages, do we want to continue growing to the mines or to spy specialists? Do we want to cottage over the farm?
We could build a monastery in Foil to fight the culture war, though I'm not sure it'll be worth it in the long run :/
No reason to move to Caste now if we're still using Slavery--where would we even use extra specialists in the short term?
How are we 4th in land area, considering we're above the average of our rivals? I'm assuming the worst is Pirates, but who's the best? At least we're keeping up in population, and that's important

Just got this message from Lewwyn:
Quote:I'm headed towards knights. So knights from the north and zerks from the sea might crack em. I need to talk to pirates about it they just offered a NAP to 140.
I think we need to chat with him about it..

We have a couple of turns to think about it at least Based on Lewwyns message I think we should get lots of Zerks together, ask M3 for a couple of cities and a nice long NAP and then go after Troll's crappy coastal cities - but that might just be me wanting to play the game for fun rather than the win - I really don't think that taking the crappy coastal cities is going to do Trolls much damage, so need to show Lewwyn the pictures and see what he thinks...

I'm confused on what you're saying with M3--get a bunch of Zerks, threaten them and ask for cities? I'm not sure that will work :/
On a related note to your "fun" comment, what do you want to post in the IT thread about that? I was going to post that we're still having fun, but I wanted to check with you before we give away our team makeup (you as turnplayer/overall strategist, me as main advisor, Merovech/YossarianLives with occasional input).
Scientists would get Academy bonus since they're science, but not Bureaucracy bonus since they're not pure commerce.

I was thinking of declaring war on M3, showing them our overwhelming force, asking for pigpen and Orient Point then:
- if they say no we take the two (probably have to burn pigpen) then burn their Great Lighthouse (unless we're sure we can keep it)
- if they say yes we take our unscathed fighting force around to Trolls and do some scathing after t140
On the funness I think its Pirates who are taking a long time over their turns - Lewwyn is probably just playing by the seat of his pants (which is still better than me spending hours on my spreadsheet) while M3 and Trolls are quick about their turns. So Pirates may just need a bit of encouragement... I think the game probably won't go far past t150 - if TEAM and we attack Trolls unsuccessfully we should probably concede.
I think telling everyone our team makeup would be fine - do you want to reply saying that we're still having fun? I mean it's a massive time-sink to be properly reporting every turn, but an enjoyable massive time-sink, and I think I'm still learning stuff.

I feel like I'm having fun, but I'm not the person spending hours and hours on the game :/

Yeah, don't worry - when it gets too much for me you'll notice the turn reports get very sketchy!
