I don't blame him for not knowing, but the tone of that second message puts my back up.
And I'm pretty sure we sent him the negotiation emails for that NAP when he took over.

We did send them all the info.
I have to run.

Well, should probably help decode the 28.12 reference to the date so they can grep through the negotiation e-mails. I do hate misunderstandings when we're trying to have a polite, civilized, gentlemanly (womanly) war here.

Any objections to sending this?
Quote:Gillette,
We would like to cancel our right of passage deal, in the event that we actually have one. Let's keep our units out of each other's territories from now on.
Regards,
The Tropical Trolls
And similar messages to M3 and Pirates?
If you know what I mean.

Ok with Gillette. However we've a deal with 3M that ROP is allowed so we need to ask for changing that. I'm not sure it is worth the hassle. We've no deals with Pirates so might be better to try to get something else agreed, if we request them leaving our territory (e.g. NAP).

Ok, I sent the message to Gillette. To the Pirates, maybe we could send this:
Quote:Pirates,
Since map trading is now an option, we request that you stop scouting our territory with units. We will of course keep our own units out of your territory, in return. If you wish to exchange maps we can do that; that would let you see the territory of all the other players plus several unsettled islands in the ocean.
If you want to feel more secure that we aren't preparing to invade you, we can offer you a NAP. For example a rolling NAP with a 10-turn cancellation notice.
Best regards,
The Tropical Trolls
Though I guess it's an open question if we even want a NAP with them. If TEAM folds easily, then maybe we'll want to keep pushing against the Pirates, too? That might make sense if we're targeting domination as our victory condition; otherwise probably not.
If you know what I mean.

To M3, how about this?
Quote:Menagerie,
Thanks for the map trade. Perhaps we can also stop scouting each other with units at this point? We see no need to maintain a right of passage deal at this point.
Best regards,
The Tropical Trolls
That might get their wheels turning in anticipation of T160. I would be happy to see them grovel for a NAP extension.
If you know what I mean.

Ok with 3M and pirates messages. We got response from Gillette:
Quote:Sure, we'll move them out asap. Unfortunately they can't go into TEAM
territory, so will skirt the northern edge of your lands.
I wonder what they mean by "can't go into TEAM territory". They already had a Knight there while I was playing.

I sent the messages to M3 and Pirates, too.

Pirates accepted no ROP and a NAP.
If you know what I mean.
