Maybe we should make it T210? The NAP with Gillette expires on T200.

I suggest sending them this.
Quote:Hi, I don't think it hurts to tell them when our NAP with Gillette ends. Who knows, maybe they'll even have the good sense to align their own NAP with that date.

Quote:We agree to these terms. NAP until T210, with OB but no ROP. Now it will be interesting to see if we're also at peace with TEAM. Hopefully not. ![]()

Q is starting to do diplomacy for TEAM again. I exchanged some PMs with him:
Qgqqqqq Wrote:Seen the offer. zakalwe Wrote:I'll discuss with the team. What are you willing to offer? Qgqqqqq Wrote:I have literally spent 10 minutes in game in the past 2 months. Pretty well anything though, as long as I think its best for the civ. zakalwe Wrote:No current deals. We had a war early on, and signed peace when Lewwyn was turn player. When the NAP from that deal expired on T145, Tasunke attacked us, and we are still fighting that war. Qgqqqqq Wrote:I don't know zakalwe Wrote:I don't know what the deal was between Gillette and TEAM, but Gillette attacked us on T140, and signed peace on T145 or so, just as Tasunke declared. They razed a couple of our smaller cities and made us draft and whip very extensively. But we forced their main stack to retreat and made a counterattack threatening one of their cities, at which point they wanted peace. We also got some troops from them in the peace deal, which we later put to use against you, so if it was supposed to be a coordinated dogpile then I guess you got shafted. M3 was also involved behind the scenes, by gifting a lot of catapults to Gillette. That was also a stab in the back, since we were supposedly close allies with M3 at the time.

Good diplo opening with Q. Not sure about NAP. At minimum they should gift Shaistakoff to us. However Pirates might attack them and in that situation it would be beneficil not to have a long NAP. It would be nice to know what kind of deals Pirates have.
There's a city that we lack visibility on somewhere between Shaistakoff and their capital. So I think no matter where we draw the line, we will be culturally pressed along the border. TEAM also has a very tight border with the pirates, for that matter.
I agree we need to know if they are safe on their other fronts. If the pirates are about to attack, we certainly don't want a NAP.

Hm, looking back at our diplo history and how we panicked during the initial attack from Gillette, I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of this we realize it was all a very carefully planned and manipulative plot to screw TEAM (we hit with massive stack) and us (now we're the "aggressors" in the world) by Gillette.
Then again, we might all just be doing Indy Ploys at this point instead of Xanatos Speed Chess. Relevant links explaining trope terms: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IndyPloy http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Ma...SpeedChess

I decided to prod Q and keep the conversation going, since we'd really like to know where we stand before we play our next turn and need to decide where to settle.
Quote:Still discussing things with my team, but one thing we do need to know before we can consider a NAP is what deals you have with the others, so please let us know about that as soon as you can. We won't give you a NAP if you're about to get rolled by one of your other neighbors instead. I know it's cynical, but I'm sure you understand. Maybe I'm being too blunt, but whatever.
