RBP8 IT and Tech Issues Thread

It seems to think I'm stuck in game basically. I tried logging in and it failed, and now when I try to connect it gets stuck at "Connecting to scooter" which is almost sorta halfway humorous.

It's going to cause me to miss my play window here though, so turn roll may either have to wait til later tonight, or until Pindicator is back and around. Honestly not sure if this will fix itself or if we need a reload.

I'm not sure but I don't think the clock is ticking down for the game. I just refreshed Civstats and it moved from 7 hours to 7:30 to go.

So, is Pindicator going to be available to play before the clock runs out? Maybe him logging in and grabbing your civ would clean up whatever the connection problem is? If not I guess when I logged out that would have created a save we can reload from, right? That would leave only you guys to play this turn.

Saves are created on login, not on logout. So if you are the last successful login you will need to replay.

I can't log in either. It says "connected to host..." but doesn't go anywhere from there

I emailed Sunrise requesting a reload to my login save. If he can get to it tonight I'll replay. Otherwise we're probably looking at about 20 hours until I'll be able to replay -- I'm not going to have my usual morning pre-work window to play with because I need to go in early tomorrow. So if we can't get it sorted tonight I'll need a pause when the reload happens.

Scooter are you running your computer 24/7? If you're, then you might want to check that your civ is not running behind the scenes from task manager.

Sorry for the delay. Reloaded to xenu's save with ~8:00 left on the clock, sorry for the inconvenience.

FYI I'm still in the process of moving between VA and MD on the weekends, and since my server PC is now at my work-week residence tech issues that crop up Friday-Sunday (or Friday-Monday in weeks where I'm off on Monday like this one) may have unusually slow responses.
