Sorry if it was not clearly expressed. I am more in favor of shorter timers and granted extensions than timers that are too long, as these are then almost always used to the end.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Might be misremembering, but in-case I'm not fairly sure its been used. Apologies if it hasn't.

Used for what?
Being busy irl and missing a turn? That's something else entirely

Hard agree. Having the 24 hour timer to aspire to and try to drive turn order whip (with deadline extensions innocent ) is preferable to 48hours where people will relax and use the whole timer anyways  shakehead

24hr turn timer at this stage in the game, with an extension every turn. Should just swap to a longer timer. Alot of work to extend the timer everytime, and wonder if someone actually missed their turn/ect. Myself/tarkeel/mjmd might be asleep when a extension is needed. (when someone cant pause) If someone is clearly just using the timer to the end everytime/ect they should be called out. Simple imo/
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I'd be more compelled by this if every long extension didn't inevitably show 2-3 extra players delaying turns with the extended hours.

Searching posts in-thread have a lot of extensions but no reloads. If it is to be, may it so be.  coffee

Am I wrong to observe a consensus among players regarding the 200 turns oopsie card? If so (I vote with Ginger fwiw), can we have the reload before Plemo and metal go to sleep?

Also support this, if it doesn't stress out the mods too much. a 30 hrs timer is effectively usually 48 hours due to splits and time zones. And while we have had many two day turns - probably inevitable at this stage and size of the game - we have also had a few smooth 24 hour ones and that was nice.

So apparently my input here was offered no consideration, though I downplayed it and do understand the reasoning given after my post. My turn actually had many moving parts that I’ll have to work hard to recreate. After thinking about it, I’ll need to request a pause after the projected turn roll if it’s allowed to go through. OR I’d ask that my place in the turn is maintained ahead of anyone I’ve met that hasn’t played yet.

As someone who has tried to play efficiently for the entire game despite a 60 hour work week and my own personal trials, there is no need for me to explain my position without getting into spoiler territory. You can consider this my Oops request for the duration, since this is all of a sudden a thing. If there is a collective problem with this, I’ll get to work on finding a sub.

Dang, sorry your response got buried in the rapid posting, DZ, I missed you and Hitru both.

In case anyone else missed it in the deluge:

I tend to stay out of these things given my own history, but I am somewhat against a re-roll of one of my patented marathon turns. I can probably re-create the moves in less time but I'm not sure when I'd get to play a re-roll, which could possibly delay the game further.

I'm doing tax prep again this year, and may have cash in some chips around April + T200 coinciding lol: So I'm afraid I'm really of no help here. I've been on the wrong side of a judgment a few times myself in the past.  I'll just say that we as a group have made many concessions merely to optimize gameplay recently and the spirit of RB is to rise above all challenges even if self-imposed.
I think if you're somewhat against, then it's pretty open-and-shut. You've been nothing but faithful and consistent, never asking for extensions or pushing the timer; it would be very wrong to punish you for doing nothing wrong here.
