[Spoilers] TheArchduke will peacefully build Seowons as Korea

Probably the overflow. Yeah, I really need to find some GUI mods for next time.

Anyway.

Turn 33

Seowon #2 finishes, bringing the science rate to a respectable 12 Icon_Science this early.

Recorded History is boosted as well and is the beeline to take on the cultural tree.

I switch towards Ilkum as to bring down the builder to 6 turns from 9. Holmgard is going to start a builder as well. Urban Planning in retrospect would have been smarter.

This is a peculiar strip. The ocean to the north is a different one.

Turn 35

Well, this map is peculiar. Probably a landbridge.

Turn 36

My score is misleadingly high.

Foreign trade is in, Early Empire next, soon to be boosted.

Both cities will make workers next turn. Or maybe I should switch in a trader shortly at the capital, but I do not want to finish currency too early.

Only turns yesterday, no report.

Turn 37 and Turn 38 I continue exploring with nothing in particular happening.

Turn 39 is once again another matter.

I switch Holmgard away from the 4Icon_Food tile to finish the trader next turn. No sense in getting an expensive 5th pop there when I am going to start a settler. Next up is a builder for a Magnus chop fest at Hammerdal.

Hammerdal finishes its builder and buys another expensive tile for a +1Icon_Science mine that it can share with HG. Next up is a monument so I can race through the culture tree quicker. My only worry is a barb camp spawning between my 2 cities. I should have probably gone agoge shortly, which I will do with early empire and chop 2 slingers or archers already out of Hammerdal.

My priority with my Government Plaza is to get him quick, early and in a place where it does not ruin seowon farm or mine placements. I am on the fence with Ancestral Hall or Audience Chamber. I want to build many cities, but longterm the audience chamber is MUCH better.

I also uncover my third city plant to the north. It not only secures my GP valley through bought tiles, it also has another fairly safe seowon, although in ring 3. Hmm, I could move the seowon between the mountains and only boost mines. Something to consider.

City plant #4 will be next to the cow in the south or if I am lucky, AH will show me an easy to reach pasture.

Care to elaborate on why audience chamber is much better than ancestral hall? I assume the statement is made in the context of multi-player.

Good point, I will elaborate after the turn reports.

Turn 40

Several things happen. EE is boosted, AH is researched.

And we build a first seowon-powered farm at Hammerdal

There are two akwardly placed horses, which I assume is on purpose.

So Eastsea is a possible city #3 and the northern position #4.

My warrior discovers a new continent and will probably head north which is I assume another jungle landbridge. The other warrior will continue scouting.

Turn 41

So with my warriors on scouting, I need to hardbuild or chop out 2 archers for protection and escort purposes.
Settlers next of course.

So the plan is to get Magnus with EE, put him into Hammerdal and have the Holmgard worker #3 chill around until he can deforest the area.

Mid term my continent will look like this:

So as to make the home pictures more readable, I will crop a bit more from now on.

Hammerdal will put every non-boosted or chopped hammer into a monument which I will try to get going for a quicker PP.

On the Government Plaza building.

The Ancestral is a great way to get cities immeaditly productive. What I worry about however is the longterm benefit of amenities and housing which is a great thing to have in your biggest cities which the audience chamber can give you.
You may be right that the SP in me is speaking there.

Turn 42

I may be unable to use the district discount too much, my science is too high and I can not reliably sandbag too much.

Turn 43

The first of hopefully many seowon powered mines.
Next turn I switch over to settlers.

There is a bit of synergy between the Audience Chamber and Korea, letting you stack even more benefits from your governors. So in theory you'd recruit every single one, even Moksha (who has been buffed a teeny bit) to get the most possible use out of the AC.

I'm not sure it beats the snowball effect of a free builder, but Korea's probably literally the only civilization that could even make it competitive.

That is in the past. Korea has been been nerfed that way. +3% per promotion.smile
