[SPOILERS - PBEM17] novice and spaceman - Suryavarman of India

Not sure what the exact definition of a "Hollywood Tough Guy" is, but here are some suggestions. smile

Faye (Dunaway) (One half of Bonnie and Clyde.)
Ian (McKellen) (Gandalf is a pretty tough guy, right? Also starred as Magneto in the X-Men films.)

Yeah I'll try to find the time...

I had Ian McKellen in mind too. Let's see what Spaceman's colleagues suggest.

Turn 10 played. Warrior is backtracking so nothing to report.

Much better. I haven't come up with anything. I did mention it to a colleague but he was rubbish, and I suddenly didn't want to explain why I needed the names to a wider audience (er, yeah I want to name units in a play-by-email strategy game - what's wrong with that?).

I can't remember where I read it now but:

Someone said that Krill is doing some heavy sandbox work for darrell in this PBEM. Expect to see a super early Stonehenge or possibly Oracle.

Not sure why Darrell would want a super early Stonehenge. Their only competition is Shoot the Moon (Pacal).

Oops, brain lapse then. Early morning and all that. I did of course mean an early Oracle, not an early darrell. Which would be weird.

Maybe they are planning the Great Lighthouse too.

They might just even do it early to show off.

Okay, I cobbled together a Micro plan that gets us TGL eot38. Five workers, three cities. Granaries in our first two cities.

The plan can definitely be refined but at least it's something we can follow for now. The plan is here:

EDIT: The above plan is being refined. Original plan is here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?hl=e...utput=html

My approach to get early wonders is to build lots of workers and chop. The advantage is that you can divert some of the chops if you miss the wonder, and your workers can be used to catch up in expansion after the wonder has been built.

I guess the alternative is to start slowbuilding the wonder as soon as possible, and then complement it with chops. I haven't tried this approach but it might give a faster finish date for the wonder. It would mean beelining Sailing and Masonry. Let's hope Krill doesn't decide to show off and do this.

I think in a pure chop-based approach India will be hard to beat, as we get sooo many free worker turns.

Played T11. Next turn the corn farm completes and we start a warrior and work the corn. Also our borders will expand at the end of next turn, giving us a better view of our surroundings.

Judging by the demographics everybody else has a two-hammer plant and are working a riverside corn. Everybody has a GNP of 19 which I guess means that the non-creative civs are on BW and the Willem is on something with no Pre-Req bonus.
