Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

Gah. No reload policy in the game rules. This can turn into a nightmare.

(My set of proposed reload rules, not that I think we should push for it now:

1. Every reload request must be made by the team asking for it, and simultaneously sent to every other team.

2. Votes on reloads are sent and tallied by the administrator, and held in confidence.

3. Teams at way may not request reloads.

4. Votes on reloads are granted by simple majority.)

Should some rules myster post in the rules discussion thread about reloads?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

This is a classic example of a post that starts from the game organizer (misusing his organization powers - see below) and ends from a CFC rep. These requests should be directed at the game admin. The only thing that the organizer should be doing now is discussing the organization of the game (connection issues, making sure teams are playing, keeping email contacts up to date, etc). All issues in game should be the responsibility of the admin.

Why don't we just say that we're fine with it because it's turn 0, but people need to be more careful because reloading is unfair to other teams later in the game? We make our point, don't allow a precedent for reloading, and don't antagonize anyone by appearing petty.

Anything other than simply "Of course you can have a reload" will paint us as bad guys. Even if our concerns for the future are legitimate.

Okay, posted the general sentiment of the majority (no issues with a reload), along with some very brief and polite suggestions.

Yes, that was well-handled indeed. We had to allow the reload request to avoid looking like jerks, but we also managed to set the precedent that the admin (and not a popularity contest organized by Sommerswerd) will determine future reloads. That was the best outcome possible.

The downside is that the Spanish Apolyton guys reloaded all the way back to the start of the turn:

I made the same moves, aside from our capital now becoming Adventure One as requested. Well, only 94 hours left to go. [Image: frown.gif] See you guys on Sunday.

Thanks Sulla.

Does anyone know if the darn mod makes it mandatory to do start-of-turn reloads?

Should we start phasing Parkin out and Kyan in as RB diplo voice soon? I'd imagine once me start making diplo contact would be a good time. (So realistically a week or three from now).
