WW16: Lurker Thread [SPOILERS]

thestick Wrote:Well, I wasn't expecting to be the first suspect after a measly one post. I just can't seem to win. Nice comment on 'didn't seem to care.' You know, dying doesn't seem so bad, all the stress is just... gone.

The 'questions' post wasn't intended as a distancing attempt, just trying to see where those assertions came from. Also, my Watcher ability had unlimited charges, and yet two charges is too strong to believe.

if it makes you feel any better, I had planned before the game started to go after you, if I was village. not because I thought you would be wolf <G> but because I felt I could gauge your guilt from a reaction. You were one of a few I felt this way, and since zak and novice had started a wagon against you I happily joined. I didn't think the "20 questions" was too suspicious, but the longer you took to respond the guiltier you looked, and when you finally did respond it sealed it. if you were village, I was expecting a ww15 type response - confusion, not understanding why you were suspected again, etc. Instead your response felt more like ww13 thestick.

Of course by that time I was the number 2 candidate, so I didn't have much of a choice anyway <G>.

zakalwe Wrote:Not really surprising, no. That's why I tried to contribute as much as possible during the night.

It's nice to be able to quit while I'm ahead. smile I really enjoyed playing as a villager again, and I always consider it my personal victory condition to be night killed when I'm a villager, so mission accomplished, as far as I'm concerned. smile

Great job modding, so far! Everything seems to be running very smoothly.

fuck frown. I die at night, without the moral victory of getting night killed (Serdoa gets that). cry this is the problem with 26 players, we're on the third day and still 21 players left - a full game's worth. ugh, this is gonna be a long time lurking until ww17 frown. I was really hoping me and serdoa could make it until night 4 or 5.

BRickAstley Wrote:And since it's the one that he has previously invented, will he catch any flak for having that?

I guess we'll find if someone else has a post restriction today, but - this does not seem like the type of game that would have them. I really think he "invented" the restriction again. I do think novice is the type that would do this as a villager or a scum (and Rowain was just being dense arguing with me and Tasunke about it).

zakalwe Wrote:Fun, IMO. Although living until the endgame would be a real endurance test. Another day or two would have been nice, though. Unless we swing a perfect early game, it will probably be painful to watch later, when only misguided villagers remain.

heh, I was the one that made the comment Brick posted about so many players being a bit chaotic, but I agree with you. In all counts, actually. I do not agree at all that there are likely a bunch of newbs as scum. Zak and serdoa as day 1 and 2 night kills were very smart scum play, and I expect to see newbies and lurkers to survive to teh endgame if they aren't lynched - azza, arromir, molach, tasunke, catwalk, merovich - if they aren't lynched they won't be night killed either. all the top posting veterans are either scum or will be killed within a few days, I'm afraid frown.

Bigger Wrote:I think he was highly influenced by me in the mason thread. we seemed to have similar suspects, and sareln was my #2 behind uberfish. I missed the last 8 hours of day 2, unfortunately, but I wasn't really convinced by sareln's defense. It was mostly just an intuition thing - pindicator feels innocent to me, uberfish feels really really guilty, and sareln is just hard to get a good read on because of the lurking. I know he came out of his shell on day 2, but lets face it, if he wasn't under the gun he probably wouldn't have posted much day 2 either, so I didn't buy it either frown.

I think if I hadn't missed the last part of day 2 I would have preferred sareln over pindicator or ichabod, but probably would have put up a better case against uberfish, who I wanted most.

Really just an intuition thing? crazyeye

I had an absolutely terrible vote record and you voted based on intuition? lol

I suspected you for your voting record alone. As I said, I have no intuition on you, because you generally don't post enough for me to have much of a read on you. The intuition comment was about pindicator - he just seems very interested in genuine hunting. Perhaps if I did have more to base a read on you, I would have bought your day 2 defense :/ Not that it matters, since my vote didn't end up on you.

uberfish was always my top suspect though - I suspected him even more than thestick on day 1, and his last minute switch to me just made him even more guilty to me.

After uberfish, Catwalk and merovich are also top suspects. at least 1 of those 3 has to be guilty, and I wouldnt be surprised if 2 of them are.

There are at least 1-3 scum that are completely utr, I'm sure. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if novice is scum here, not sure why he is being trusted so much. Ichabod may be guilty as well, but his day 2 really seemed villagerish to me. Pindicator's last post on waterbat has me wondering about him as well.

I get village reads on Gaspar, Rowain (stubborn and somewhat obtuse, but thats villager Rowain), Pindicator, and tasunke, and some others if I thought about it more.

Thanks. Oh well, there's always next game. You guys caught me with the response, I guess I didn't crack enough under pressure. And of course my past selves come to haunt me.

No really, this game is confusing. I overreact last game, I'm suspicious. I don't react this game, I'm suspicious.

I'm also irritated that I can't speak my mind even though I'm dead.

Mild spoiler about previous wolf intentions:
The 'interesting target' was you. They were planning on killing you Night 1.
More people have been to Berlin than I have.

oh well, they got me anyway even if it wasn't intentional, haha. Zak was certainly a better kill from a scum perspective, though.

I'm actually quite mad at myself for not doing more to keep serdoa from being night killed. Besides putting his name in red during the night to try and dirty him up, I could have made a post asking mattimeo to cloke him. Or said something like "flip a coin and protect either novice or serdoa." It doesn't really matter if mattimeo listened to me or not, putting the idea out there might have made them think twice about hitting serdoa. Which was our goal with our role - preventing the wolves from getting a 2 for 1 as long as possible.

Of course matt could be a wolf, I don't know.. but I doubt it. As for my vague hints about what matt did - if he's village, I think its pretty fucking obvious, even if catwalk and TT don't see it. He only could have either protected himself or no one night 1 - I think its very likely he hasn't used any of his charges up to this point - which fits right in with matt's previous play (he never used his drone charges either).

I don't think you could have saved me in any way Bigger. I'm quite certain that I was either killed because Ichabod is scum or because he is a villager - and therefore perfectly setup to be mislynched now (zak suspects him -> zak dies, I suspect him -> I die). I would be very surprised if no one would make that connection.

Read the thread now and hey, already the connection I mentioned was made. What surprise wink

As for the post-restriction of Meiz: Thats fiendish. Really. But I ask myself, will someone have the idea to just give him a code? Like ? = a, * = b, and so on?

There is that, but also the fact that nobody really suspected you in any way. You were just too much in character. You jumped on Mattimeo on day 1, and made a last minute vote for a villager on day 2, and still nobody really raised an eyebrow. So while you could have been mislynched, you were not very attractive mislynch material, and it made sense to kill you.

Ichabod still makes an excellent lynch, though. If I were still in the game I would probably join the Rowain push currently, and give Ichabod a chance to rebound. If he keeps spewing vague nonsense even then, send him to the gallows. (His excuse so far has been spending so much time defending, but I don't buy it. His defense is just a bunch of fluff, he should and would have focused much more on attacking, if he were innocent.) If Ichabod makes some kind of fantastic recovery, Rowain is also a good lynch. His day 1 Bigger vote really stinks, and he has spent WAY too much time not really taking a stance on anything.
