Enlighten me how that is the case.

Lets assume a night in an theoretical game somewhere here: novice, Serdoa , zak and myself are all villager. (Lewwyn is scum wink ). One of us is most likely to die so isn't it better we discuss things so that whoever dies has his thoughts out then staying silent and robbing the village from this insights?

If you die all your hints you have gathered during the day all your ideas you have from rereading the day during the night are lost. Village needs discussion. There is absolutely no need ever for the village to shut up.
In a game like this where scum can only talk to each other during the night village should talk more! so that the wolves maybe can't keep up and fall behind making mistakes.

Day 1 has begun.

Ok seems pointless to argue against rowain but I will do it anyway. Normally you have 48 hours to voice your opinion. Waiting for the night phase to finish normally makes no difference.

Anyway pub and drunk so will argue properly tomorrow, but zak

I don't think mafia would be particularly eager to get people talking on night 0. I think they'd be content to lurk through the night if the mood seemed to allow it.

I don't agree with that zak, but we obviously have a different opinion on that and without any experience (at least in my case) it really comes down to believes. But I think scum benefits more from talk than they lose by it. As scum you need to integrate in the town in any case, it doesn't matter if you have to do it for 24 hours more. But then I never felt it hard to integrate into town as scum either, so I admit I might be biased.

Well, in many of my scum games I have found it a real drag to even post something at all. It does obviously depend on how motivated you are, and some players are just better at blabbering than others. Like Rowain kept saying though, a quiet town is good for scum, and I think scum will usually be very happy to have it stay that way. There's a reason why night kills tend to target active players and not lurkers.

So really, I don't see why "hoping to get everybody else to talk" would be the play you expect to see from scum.

Goreripper's post #67 seems awkward like a wolf trying to come up with something. I also want him to answer my question about how he came to RB. For this reason I'll just dump my vote on goreripper until he answers my question. Add to that I know that one villager who I respect suspects him to.

It's not just that Zak was willing to change to rule to favor wolfs. Rather he did it without any hesitation. Giving up such a big advantage without thinking is extremely unnatural.

Because Rowain died I won't answer his questions unless someone asks theme again...
