[TECH] PB23 IT and Tech issues thread

Uhhh, I am not sure, but we were reminded that huts and events are more fair in RtR than in BtS. (I only want huts turned off because I'm pretty sure I won't pop any techs from them!) I thiiiink we were going to allow city trading if it's part of a peace deal but I honestly can't remember.

Well, I'm in favor of huts and events -- I like a little randomness in my game, even when it doesn't work in my favor -- as well as allowing limited city trading...I think city gifting should be forbidden, but allowing a single city to be made part of a deal seems reasonable to me.

I've sent a link to the map file to Caledorn, so when he's available he'll get it hosted and off you go. Enjoy.

Thanks for making the map, Krill.

I am encountering some trouble with the map, as the link I received to the savegame opens as a text document in my browser. Apparently just copying and pasting the contents of that into a WBSave file isn't good enough for Pitboss, as it then refuses to read the Game Options. I have asked Xenu to zip the WBSave file down and email it to me instead, in the hope that that will help.

Okay, so I figured out, together with Xenu, that the map was generated in base BTS and only had data for 18 civs as opposed to the needed 40 with RtR. However, I am still having issues with the save after manually adding the missing null civs to the WBSave file myself. When I fired up the Pitboss, now that it finally works, it has decided that everyone except Dreylin has finished their turn. I can't find any reference to turn ended in the WBSave file, so this needs to be fixed by someone.

Sequential turn timer perhaps?

That could be it. I'm pretty exhausted after a long day. I'll go check if I forgot to add simultaneous turns now.

Thanks, plako - that was indeed the problem!

Ignore the fact that 6 of the teams are registered as having ended turn, since that's just an artifact from the previous mistake.

I've set the turn timer to 72 hours for the initial turn - 23 hours for the ongoing turns after that (which will translate into 24 hours).
