My game with Old Lion is pretty fast. T25 already and averaging 2/day. No worries about pace here.

I'm sure we could sprint to the finish line if time gets tight but I appreciate having a backburner game for now.

Mine too. I'm wondering if maybe he got in over his head with too many games, and if so, if we can help. Maybe he could focus on just one opponent at a time and try to push those games to the end?

The game with Auro is one long blitz, a pleasure to play.
We started to play the game with Tasunke properly at the start of March and it was moving along at a decent pace but has been stuck with him for the last few days.
Haven't started with Q yet.

Game OldLion vs Q : turn 59
Game OldLion vs Dreylin : turn 40
Game OldLion vs Mardoc : turn 25
the difference is probably due to different time zone. I'm GMT+1 and I can play several turns in the evening/nigt, and one turn in the morning.
I could manage a 4th game if one of my opponents for game 4, 5 or 6 feels like it. (Bob, Tasunke or Northstar)

Hey, Old Lion- I'm able to duel you starting whenever. I don't have any settings in mind though, so I'm happy if you want to go first in proposing them instead.

Hey Bob,
As now must be evident, I'm not a great strategist (yet), so I don't have an informed advice on the settings.
I'm happy with the mirror maps I'm playing in my current games, so you can do something very similar.
While we are discussing about that game :
I think there is room for some improvement to my strategy and tactics, so I'd like you to authorise other players, even opponents of mine, to provide advice to me for the early stages of the game.
It probably is not very fair, but I don't think it will turn me in a juggernaut right away. Since it will be one thread you won't be able to moderate, can you give an opinion on that now ?

At the (incredible) turn pace you play at, I'm not sure there is time for any advice!

incredible turn pace ? Not sure how you can say that and what you mean. Do you suggest I should play more slowly because I need to take the time to ponder my moves ?
Anyway, I wish I could collect some suggestions on the early turns of my game with next games, both for the short term and the medium term.
I want to improve my game starting sequence for now. I'll become a civ grand master some other day, but not now.*(I'll update my signature then)

@ Old Lion- I totally understand where you're coming from, and if this were just the two of us dueling divorced of a tournament context I'd have no problem with it, but I'm going to have to say no for getting advice from fellow duelists. I've already admonished two of our competitors for seeking or giving advice to other players and it wouldn't be consistent or fair for me to make an exception for you.
Please by all means get a dedicated lurker though, if you can find someone unspoiled! Or even simply someone not participating in the tournament, provided they don't comment on other games; I'm not going to keep a spoiler thread , so no worries there.
Would you be okay with a game using a Discovery-era start? You might enjoy being able to jump straight into the mid-game.

I'm happy with any settings you propose.
Also, I'll respect your decison regarding advices, and indicate participants should not provide help.
