Turn 53 - 880BC
Opened turn to find El G's asking for Open Borders. Oh, go on then.
Pardew: finished road on Copper Mine @ Bognor.
Pulis: put a turn into Riverside Cottage @ Croydon.
Holloway: moved onto Grassland Hill @ Chatham & started a Mine.
Freedman: finished Cow pasture @ Canterbury.
Burley: still Roading into the centre (now covered by Southgate).
Although the Hill they were standing on, with Adrien's lurking Scout, would be ideal, Johnson & the Settler moved 1N and I founded Chichester! Oh dear, Adrien's Scout got pushed south; I'd better offer him Open Borders, so it can move away. Don't want him getting arsey
Wright moved 1NW. Hmm .. looks like El G's going to settle aggressively against Khan's (probably) refounded city. there's a face-off between an Impi & a Skirmisher
Cannon moved 1S,2W.
Sansom moved 2N.
100% tech now gives Mathematics in 4 turns @ -29g/turn; 0% gives +20g/turn, so that's still 3 turns before I can ramp up the tech rate. However, I've slipped a 2-turn Work Boat in before completing the Library @ Bognor to help the new city grow, so that should improve matters.
PBEM12 - Shaka of Inca [6/6*] PBEM18 (Apps) - Augustus of China [4/4*] PBEM31 - Hannibal of Greece [jnt2-4/5*] PBEM72 - Willem of Oranje - Dutch [3/4*] PBEM74A -Catherine of Babylon [4/4][*ended early]

Turn 54 - 840BC
It gets to that point in a game when you're struggling to think what to build as the tech rate isn't keeping up; and that time is now. Sod it, I'll build a Barracks in Canterbury (fitting); yep, scraping the barrel here! And the cause of this dilemma? Neil Ruddock (Bowman) joins the squad. Sent him southwards to wait for a Settler to plonk a city on a rocky outcrop,
Cannon moves 2NW.
Sansom moves 2E.
Wright moves 1S,2W.
Pardew: moved onto Grassland Hill @ Bognor & started a Mine.
Pulis: finished Riverside Cottage @ Croydon.
Holloway: put a turn into the Mine @ Chatham.
Freedman: started to hook up the Cows & Sheep @ Canterbury.
Burley: still roading into the centre.
100% now gives Mathematics in 4 turns @ -30g/turn; 0% yields +27g/turn. Cool, I can ramp up the tech rate next turn!!! About bloody time!!!!!

So .. off we go again .. before the next hiatus, that is.
Turn 55 - 800BC
Pardew: put a turn into the Grassland Hill Mine @ Bognor.
Pulis: moved onto a Forested Grassland ready to pre-chop.
Holloway: finished the Grassland Hill Mine @ Chatham.
Freedman: finished the road on the Cow Pasture @ Canterbury.
Burley: still connecting Bognor & Chichester on his way into the centre.
Wright moved 3S,2W(!) using Khan's Roads.
Cannon moved 1SW.
Sansom moved 2E.
Ruddock continues his way to the Ramsgate site.
Racked the tech rate up to max and maths will now take 3 turns @ -32g/turn ... nice!!!

Hopefully this'll get back to normal now ...
Turn 56 - 760BC
Pardew: put a turn into the Grassland Hill Mine @ Bognor.
Pulis: pre-chopped that Forested Grassland @ Croydon.
Holloway: moved onto the 2nd Sheep @ Chatham and started a Pasture.
Freedman: now connecting the Cow Pasture to Canterbury.
Burley: still connecting Bognor & Chichester on his way into the centre.
Wright moved 3SW on Khan's Roads!
Cannon moved 1NW.
Sansom moved 2E.
As Barracks, Settler & Library complete at end of this turn in Canterbury, Chatham & Bognor, respectively, I've queued up 3 Workers.
With those builds, Mathematics finish next turn @ cost of 34g.
In football news. we was robbed at Southampton; just hope tomorrow's rearranged match affects Manure's chances of European qualification on both fronts.

another short hiatus ..
Turn 57 - 720BC
Pardew: finished the Grassland Hill Mine @ Bognor.
Pulis: moved 1E to pre-chop another Forest @ Croydon.
Holloway: put a turn into the 2nd Sheep Pasture @ Chatham.
Freedman: finished connecting the Cow Pasture to Canterbury.
Burley: finished Roading to Chichester .. finally!
Wright moved 2W, around a small inlet.
Just-built Settler on his way to Ramsgate site, where Ruddock has finally arrived.
Cannon moved 2N.
Sansom moved 2E.
And Mathematics completed at end of turn! Those chops, when I need them, will be so much better!!
Calendar will take 4 turns @ 100% & +34g/turn. 0% yields +24g/turn; 5 turns @ 0% to pay for it then.
So Manure managed to qualify for the Europa League last night; maybe they won't be so bothered about winning on Saturday, especially if their players are tired. Come on Palace!!!

Turn 58 - 680BC
WTF? I expected to 2-pop-whip the Worker in Bognor this turn, but it's going to complete this turn and only cost 1-pop. As Bognor is already too big for it's happy-cap, I'll have to queue up a Settler and hope the maths is correct.
Pardew: sending him up to Chichester to improve the Horses there.
Pulis: put a turn into pre-chopping a forest @ Croydon.
Holloway: finished the 2nd sheep pasture @ Canterbury.
Freedman: put a turn into Roading the 1st Sheep Pasture @ Canterbury.
Burley: continuing the Road into the centre.
Southgate moved 1NE, towards the centre. Great! Adrien has a fecking Skirmisher sitting on top of the Marble!!! I'll have to sort out Horse Archers to dig that out!!!
Cannon: moved 1N,2E.
Sansom: moved 2NE.
Wright moved 1SW.
0% tech briefly gave +25g/turn, but this dropped to +22g/turn as 2 Workers and a Settler were built at end of turn.

At last ....
Turn 59 - 640BC
Pardew: moved onto the Horse @ Bognor & started a Pasture.
Pulis: turn of pre-hopping a Forest @ Croydon.
Holloway: started Road to Ramsgate site due to settle next turn.
Freedman: finished road on Sheep Pasture @ Canterbury.
Burley: still Roading into the centre.
Paul Hart: moved from Bognor to join Burley.
Neil Warnock: moved onto a Forest @ Chatham to pre-chop.
Wright moved 2SW.
Cannon moved 1NE.
Sansom moved 2N.
Southgate moved 1NW & found Adrien's got a Settler, defended by a just a Warrior on a Jungle tile .. tempting .. very tempting. No idea where that Skirmisher's gone from the Marble.
Damn! Moved a Settler the wrong way!! As I can't be bothered to replay every move listed above, I'll just have to suck it up & build more!
100% tech costs 37g/turn; 0% yields 23g/turn. That's 1.6 turns @ 0% for every turn required @ 100%. But i do have some gold banked. I've slipped Horseback Riding in before Calendar - 3 turns @ 0% for 3 turns @ 100%.
Regarding the FA Cup Final ...
WE WAS ROBBED BY MANURE-LOVING CLATTENBURG!!!!!!
Wickham's goal should've been allowed! Ward should've been left to run on goal.
Mata & Rooney should've been shown yellow cards for their 2nd fouls!! I'm sure Clattenburg would've found some way not to send off Smalling if it hadn't been so blatant!
Manure should've been down to 8 men!!! Instead, we played against 14!!!!

Turn 60 - 600BC
Judaism spread to Bognor last turn; I declined a turn of anarchy!
Ooh .. Adrien settled off the Marble, and on the flat! Khan must be miffed as he's declared war. This could be too good an opportunity, to mess with Adrien, to give up ...
Pardew: put a turn into the Horse Pasture @ Chichester.
Pulis: moved to another forest @ Croydon ready to pre-chop.
Holloway: finished Roading his current tile.
Freedman: moved to help Holloway with the Route to Ramsgate.
Burley & Hart: now teamed and Roading to the centre.
Warnock: put a turn into pre-chipping a forest at Chatham.
Peter Taylor: moved to join Warnock.
Wright moved 2SW.
Sansom moved 2N,1E.
Still can't 2-pop whip in Bognor .. maybe the next Settler.
And what of Southgate & Cannon?
Well ... sod it .. it was too good to miss out .. I've declared war on Adrien! That'll be a shock when he opens the turn!!!
Moved Southgate back 1NE onto the Silver tile he was standing on. Doubt Adrien will risk attacking him if Khan's nearby; Skirmisher might get the odds, but a Warrior won't .. unless he cheats and reloads. Meanwhile, Cannon nabbed an unprotected Worker; there's 2 more, unprotected, in range over the next 2 turns if Adrien doesn't move them.
Oh yeah, settled Ramsgate this turn too.
100% tech costs 47g/turn; 0% yields 24g/turn .. ouch! 2 more turns of 0% to pay for 3 turn Horseback Riding .. and hello Horse Archers; the Skirmisher nemesis!!!

Turn 61 -560BC
Adrien sent an Axeman to cover the next Worker; bad move against Cannon (a Chariot)! So I've nabbed a 2nd free Worker and moved the 1st to be covered by the injured Cannon, they are now named Iain Dowie and Trevor Francis, although Cannon will be killed by a Skirmisher if Adrien doesn't accept the Peace Treaty I sent.
Pardew: finished the Horse Pasture @ Chichester.
Pulis: put a turn into pre-chopping a Forest @ Croydon.
Holloway & Freedman: put a turn into the road to Ramsgate.
Burley & Hart: moved 1SE and put a turn into a Cottage @ Chichester.
Warnock & Taylor: Warnock put a turn into pre-chopping a Forest @ Chatham; Taylor joined him.
Wright cheekily moved 1W onto a Hill in Adrien's culture. He'll get thrown out again if Adrien accepts peace.
Sansom moved 1N.
Southgate moved 1W onto a Jungled Hill & found Adrien has 3 Workers chopping a Forest - if they are still there next turn, and Adrien doesn't cover them with a Skirmisher or accept peace, there's 3 more freebies.
Chris Coleman (Bowman) moved from Croydon towards the centre.
100% now costs 50g/turn; 0% yields 23g/turn. That still means 2 turns after this @ 0% to pay for 3-turn HBR. At end of turn 0% now yields 25g/turn due to population growth.

Dammit!! Adrien took back his workers & killed Cannon (who was due a promotion). Couldn't see this until I had accepted the Peace Treaty. At least he's saved me their upkeep!
Pardew: now Roading the horse Pasture @ Chichester.
Pulis: moved onto another Forest tile ready to pre-chop.
Holloway & Freedman: still building the Road to Ramsgate (The Thanet Way)
Burley & Hart: finished the Cottage @ Chichester.
Warnock & Taylor: moved onto wet Wheat south of Chatham ready to Farm for a future city.
Iain Dowie (new Worker, not the nabbed one): moved onto Grassland @ Canterbury & started a Cottage.
Sansom moved 2N,1E.
I might have to delete Wright; but I'll wait until I build the first Horse Archer.
Ok, looks like I can finally ramp up to 100% tech next turn.
