Looks as though I deleted my shots from turn 36 till now. Well lets get you lurkers up to speed.

Staring is the score and Rankings

I am sitting at the bottom, mostly due to my Era score. Things do not look good for a golden age.

I have got down in rankings as well.

As for my scouting efforts, lets start in the east

My scout is moving towards the edge of the map while trying to get as much info as possible. TheArchduke positioned his chariots to block my scout and I do not want to spark aggression yet.

In the west

I met Korea and his land looks to be doing well. Scout is also heading towards the map edge.

My warrior is heading off to find and destroy the not so close barb camp. At least there are not any horses nearby.

My slinger is just scouting out the lush mountain value NW of my capital.

My warrior in the north is checking out how much desert there actually is

Alright to start an overview of Georgian Lands

Working on a science district in the capital, while Fourth State builds a builder. The capital has a slinger and a warrior at 1 ready for two chops. Irrigation almost ready for the luxuries, and I will probably spend a charge on the new builder to grab the silver. As much as I really wanted a Golden Age I have decided (later posts show the Era situation) to just go into a dark age. I have very little experience in a Dark Age so this should be fun.

I am not at all happy about getting the Mongols right next to me. Settling a city on my side of the river to the east is also a priority. I'll sum up my thoughts on the current turn report, for now I'll just fill you all in up to that point.

Your reporting broke off rather quickly when things got rough with is totally understandable. Still some comments on this game from me if you want them.

Your civ choice:

Georgia
Indonesia
Australia
China
Rome
Greek

Those are some picks I would have killed for.

Rome is by far one of the superior civs out there, Australia is great for a builder and the map. Everything, really every choice is better then Georgia. You got flak for taking and rightly so, although playing the underdog is fun, you deliberately put yourself into a situation where you were behind other superior choices. You probably would not have been dowed just by taking Australia (which would have the tipped the risky chariot rush into no can do territory.)

The settle in place was peculiar, looking at it, the two tiles were very strong. Still 1 SW would have netted +3 gold and more forests to chop, but would have prevented the nice Fourth Estate city plan.

Your second city was an excellent plan imo, close, supportable, forests to chop, nice harbor location. Beautiful, I liked it.

What was your rational behind the DoF with the Cree? He is too far away to cause problems anyway.

Shame that you did not at all report on your valiant defense against me, as it would help with analysis of the war from your perspective and mine for your game and future games.

To be fair, part of the goal of the game was to explore the expansion, and Georgia was Emperor's one expansion civ, even if it was a weak choice. That was the reason I took Korea over Scythia in my thread - because who wants to just see a Scythia horseman spam game (although our brawl with the Mongols would ahve been fun)? Better to explore the new expansion civs and features! I think Emperor's choice is defensible.
